Hello. Question… for PVE alerts and raids, plus duos, and for players with CR 180 or higher… which would be the better white Mod? Penetrating Strike or Core Strength? And what real benefits (beyond what is described) do players get? I am well aware of the math behind both… and what stacks with Max Damage, etc., but there seems to be a disconnect in what many of us see when using one or the other. Can you kindly please provide a detail describing which is the better white mod?

    Thank you in advance.

Hello StrongForce, Core Strenght is better for PVP because you will always have that damage increasement applied to your character. However, there is a little damage difference between Penetrating Strike and Core Strenth

Hi, the tactical mods don’t work on my PVP gear, everytime I try to put one on it says “a compatible type of socket could not he found”. But they work fine on my PVE gear and I can put them on no problem. Did you recently ban tactical mods on PVP gear or?

Hello ChrisHems, Tactical MODs only work on PVE Armor. New PVP gear doesnt allow Tactical MODS to be equipped which is why not found message is shown

Hello! About the Weakening Field back mod, it’s stated to work against “enemy *players* striking you”, will it work on pve instances as well (against non-players)?
Thanks in advance! Keep up the nice work!

No Jimmy, unfortunately it doesnt work on PVE only for enemy players 🙁

I’m wondering from the wording of the Max Damage hand mod: “using a super power while in Damage role always increases damage by 60% until the combo counter resets (at least five seconds)”. It says combo counter, so does that mean that I get the boost after shooting a bit until the counter comes up and then using my super powers?

Yes Blue Falconner, in fact you can tell if this buff is active if you see lightning icon near your health bar displayed

Hi, how do you actually USE these tactical mods? Do they go into one of the four slots (currently locked) in the lower left side of your character? I have all three generator cells unlocked and dispensed Blaster mods but that didn’t unlock any of those slots. Someone said they are fused with weapons and gear that are white but none of my gear has white sockets? I thought the colors were only red/yellow/green/blue/orange and for PvP, rainbow? How does one get gear that has white sockets in them? I am at level 21 (I think, and play on Xbox one). The wiki isn’t very informative sometimes.

    Thanks,

    Philip

Hello Philip thanks for your question. Tactical mods are meant to be used for after you reach level 30 and you start raising your combat rating. You need to earn Marks of Victory which is obtained from PVE Instances but as i said before you need to be level 30 to enter these instances.

You can read more about the Base Mainframe here http://dcuobloguide.com/guides/base-mainframe/. You may need to buy Lair System which includes the ability to upgrade your base Hideout into a Lair, use the Mainframe and Generator, and all the features within

Hello Kross, you must remember that as a DPS having Max Damage Tactical MOD in your equipment will increase all your damage by 60% so maybe this is why CR 79 deals more damage

Hey,, buddy, I was wondering wich deals more dmg in pvp: Penetrating Strikes (Your attacks ignore 528 Defense and 774 Toughness) or Core Strength (Gain an additional 10% damage) ??

Hello Thorz, thanks for your comment. Penetrating strikes deals more damage because it affects Toughness directly. However, for arenas PVP and PVP armor there are no slots for dispenser MODS unless you use PVE armor in open world PVP Zones

Hello,How do you upgrade tactical mod to 3? My mainframe doesnt show an option to upgrade to 3 and I have 3 batteries charged.

Hello Awwshiet, you need to have enough Marks of Victory to unlock Tactical Mod to 3. That is probably the solution to your issue 🙂

I was wondering in the Hand mods the one called “max damage ” does it really increase the damage role buff to 60% ? If so then I could choose lesser powers that have a low damage buff and it will be up to 60% right ?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yes PrimaryForce, it is highly recommended for any dps. All superpowers will increase all damage by 60% no matter what percentage is displayed in its tooltip
