Light Controller Guide

Light players assault their enemies with hard light constructs and support their allies to keep them in the fight. Heroes wield the green power of Will, while villains use the yellow power of Fear. This power is available by buying it from Marketplace with 600 Station Cash

As a Controller, players can focus on Superpowered or Hybrid Playstyle. They must unlock these stat points after unlocking required Weapon Combos, Weapon Mastery Combos and Movement Innates (7 Skill Points)

  • Focus: Superpowered (Recommended) or Focus: Hybrid – Use 1 Skill Point
    • Unlock Weapon Mastery Combos and Movement Abilities before unlocking this Stat
  • Critical Power Chance – Use 20 Skill Points
  • Critical Power Magnitude – Use 10 Skill Points
  • Might & Power – 50% of your Skill Points
    • Required for improving Power Pool to sustain in long battles
  • Vitalization – 50% of your Skill Points
    • Required for improving Power Healing effects
  • Dominance
    • Spend 5 Skill Points before going Full Might & Power and Vitalization to gain Dominance percentage increase

  • Controllers’ Power over Time is triggered by any superpower.
  • Recharge [4] Group Power Heal prioritize allies with the lowest percent power
  • Recharge [4] Group Weapon Buff prioritize allies with the highest percent power.
  • Controllers have the main task of debuffing Bosses and NPCs which is why this loadout has all Controller Debuffs
    • Light Blast [3]: it is important to keep your enemies Defense Debuff with this superpower. This will let your allies damage them harder. It also stuns enemies
    • Entrap [2]: some Instance Mechanics allow Bosses to be healed during battle which is when this superpower works as a Healer Debuff.
    • Light Weight Strike [1]:  this Damage Debuff will protect your Tank by decreasing the damage output of your target. This is recommended to be used on Bosses all the timeThis superpower is also your Supercharge Generator
  • As a Controller, you have to be always available to raise fallen group members. For this task, Light Barrier [5] grants you a protector Shield
  • For Controllers, Hand Blasters and Dual Pistols are the most recommended weapons. However, players can still use the weapon best suits them

Construct Combos

Players can use Construct Combos while Controlling to deal some damage to enemies. However, it is important to fulfill the Controller Tasks first like: Debuffing, picking up fallen group members, restoring power when needed, and more

Construct Combos for Light Blast [3]

  • Hold Range: Minigun
    • Tap Range: Ram
      • Hold Melee: Snap Trap
        • Hold Range: Light Blast [3]

Construct Combos for Entrap [2]

  • Hold Range: Impact
    • Hold Range: Light Blast [3]

Tactical MODS

    • Replenishing Adapter: Weapon attacks restore additional power. This effect may only occur once every 20 seconds
  • NECK
    • Escalating Replenishing Procs: Increases your Critical Power Chance by 5% for 6 seconds when you use Recharge [4] Group Power Heal
  • BACK
    • Breakout Regeneration: Gain Health regeneration for 4 seconds after using the Breakout ability
    • Violent Breakout: Using your Breakout ability causes enemies to be violently knocked down and away from you. The same enemy may only be affected once every 30 seconds
  • FEET
    • Explosive Block: Your Block Counter knocks enemies much further away and increases their helpless duration by up to 1 second
    • Reserve Tank: Increases your maximum Power pool by 5%
    • Max Damage: Using super powers increases damage by 2% for a short time
    • Regenerative Shielding: Heal yourself when using a Shield super power

      Hello Nick for Generator MODS, you should use Power over Health if you are playing as a controller only. However, if you play both roles DPS and Controller you can have 2 health and 2 power mods

    Hey I tired these loadouts their good but it doesn’t make me feel like a Green Lantern
    Like most of the mi didn’t get the close ranges fighting
    any other loadouts you may think would solve this and still work for trolls

      Hello Kronost, we provide guides that helps player fulfill its role task which is why it is hard for us to make other loadouts. If you want to create your own controller loadout that makes you feel Green lantern you should only focus on having Debuffs Superpower, Power over Time buff, and Recharge (Instant Power)

    Just curious What is the best top 3 control powers in your opinion ?and why?

      Hello Static, in my opinion this is the order i would choose a power for control:
      1. Quantum
      2. Mental
      3. Light
      4. Gadgets
      5. Munitions

    Hey, so my loadout is essentially the same as this except for the 3rd one, I have triage instead (I think) to heal myself. Does that make a significant difference in my ability to be controller? Also, why vitalization and precision and not vitalization and power? Also how much time should I devote to fighting rather than consistently supplying power? I find myself running out sometimes halfway through the battle. I think it has a lot to do with ppl who use too much for me to supply…

      Hello August, thanks for your question. As a controller, you should have all your debuffs abilities in loadout. However, for challenges, missions, duos, or any other instance that doesnt require all controller debuffs you can use triage with no problem.

      We recommend Precision for Red Sockets only because it is recommended to unlock equipment MOD Bonus. If you use Vitalization and Power it will only give you bonus if you put it in Yellow Sockets.

      Thanks! Yeah I think you’re right. If I’m in a situation where I need to heal myself a lot, I should probably not be control. And I can’t remember the last time I even needed to use that… I mainly would use if for like if I’m about to die and maybe heals isn’t enough. I never use soders though so maybe I should!

    Can you explain the troll loadout rotation? I can only see the construct rotation

      Hello Abdul, when you use your character as a controller you dont need to follow any rotation instead you must ensure the following:
      * Keep your Power Over Time buff active all the time. This is activated with Impact
      * Using Recharge to restore power instantly when your team is low powered
      * Use your damage and defense debuff so your enemies received more damage from your allies and the target inflicts less damage to Tank.

      While your buffs and debuffs are active you can use UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS. However, you have to get used to buff and debuff duration so you reactivate it when needed
