Light players assault their enemies with hard light constructs and support their allies to keep them in the fight. Heroes wield the green power of Will, while villains use the yellow power of Fear. This power is available by buying it from Marketplace with 600 Station Cash

Statistics Priority

  • Precision: Precision adds damage to all weapon attacks and Light Combos (white damage).
  • Might: Might increases damage from super powers (yellow damage).
  • Critical Weapon Attack Chance: The chance to perform a critical attack with a weapon
  • Critical Weapon Attack Damage: Increases the damage a critical attack with a weapon does
  • Critical Ability Attack Chance: Increases the chance to perform a critical attack with an ability.
  • Critical Ability Attack Damage: Increases the damage a critical attack with an ability does.

  1. Fan:  damages, stuns, pulls, and knocks down enemies. Dazed enemies take additional damage. Increases all damage by 50%. [Construct Combos] Light Claws x4 (Tap Melee), Impact (Hold Range)
  2. Light Blast: Blasts a beam of light at each of your enemies, damaging and stunning them.
    If enemies are below 35% health, the attack deals extra damage. Increases all damage by 50%. [Construct Combos] Minigun (Hold Range)
  3. Chompers: damages enemies over time and causes them to panic. Dazes enemies, making them vulnerable to dazing effects. Increases all damage by 45%.
  4. Light Barrier: Surrounds yourself in a light shield that frees you from control effects and prevents incoming damage. Some incoming damage will be directed back at your attackers
  5. Strafing Rum (50% Supercharge Cost): Generates a construct jet to bomb your target and surrounding enemies, stunning them, heavily damaging them, setting them on fire, and causing them to flee in panic. Inflicts Burning to make enemies vulnerable to burning effects.
  6. Robot Sidekick: Deploy a hovering security drone to assist in battle. Hold the Robot Sidekick button for three seconds to banish it.

Light DPS Tips

  • Chaining together consecutive Construct Combos for a period of four seconds or more causes significantly increased damage until the combo chain is broken. While causing increased damage in this manner, Construct Combos begin inflicting and become vulnerable to counter mechanics
  • Since GU57, If your Construct Combo is interrupted after triggering Advanced Mechanic damage you now have a three seconds window of time to restart the combo without losing the AM damage increase.
  • With GU57Ranged Construct Combos now cause increased damage, with the most damage being caused within 13m of a target.
  • Using Weapon Mastery Combos is optional for Light players because most of its high damage can come from Construct Combos
  • Using Unlimited Construct Combos will increase your hit counter so your Neck Tactical MOD Relentless Precision will increase your Precision by 8%
  • For DPS, “Max Damage” Tactical MOD is required for all superpowers to increase all damage by 60%.

    Okay so for the unlimited construct combos, there’s 2 combos for melee listed is that one long combo altogether or we can chose on the one we prefer and spam them infinitely.

      Also are there any alternatives to robot sidekick? My character play style is 100% lantern corps style and thecpet doesn’t fit my style and im not a fan of it xD is there any other usefull alternative skill i can use instead of robot sidekick. #norobosidechick

      Robot sidekick is recommended to have an additional damage ouput due to you can access unlimited construct combos without filling all loadout spots.

      Hello Legacy, what unlimited combo you use will depend on what combat situation you are facing. If you are fighting adds you should use “Fan [1]” – (Tap Melee x4) Light Claws – (Tap Range) Ram – (Tap Range) Fan but if you are facing bosses you should use the second one or Range Construct combos

      That is in fact one of our previous suggested Loadout. You can use it but use chompers, recharge and inspiration at the beginning of the rotation. Dont ever stop unlimited combos to refresh recharge and inspiration effects because UNLIMITED COMBOS will deal more damage than stopping and refreshing effects

      Hello Billy, for Light DPS using your Construct Combo is the best way to deal damage. It is good having inspiration and recharge in the loadout. However, you must know that if you cut the unlimited construct combos to use inspiration and recharge your damage will be heavily reduced

    Can you give me advice on skill point allocation? I’ve done a few calculations and it looks like getting to the 3x+25 precision is still more precision/point than just doing the lower ranks of other weapons, but I’m not sure what to blow those skill points on to get there? Should I use them on weapon skills even though I won’t be needing to use my weapon really? Or should I blow them on a different stat? If a different stat, then which order would be priority of waste stats? (Health, Toughness, Dominance, Power, Vitality, etc.) <- Any chance you could rank the importance of those for me in case I ever encounter a point where I need to choose? Thanks!!

      Hello Derek, for all roles you have to unlock main weapon mastery and cross weapon masteries first. For DPS role, after unlocking weapon masteries you should focus on weapon trees with your main statistic (Precision for Light) so you unlock as much precision as you can and also get Critical Chance and Critical Damage increasement. After all precision trees are unlocked, go to other trees and get Might + Critical Chance and Critical Damage increasement

      For DPS, unlocking Critical Chance and Critical Damage skill points will heavily improve your damage.

    im confused on the difference between white damage and yellow damage? are my construct rotation combos only based off of precision? so might doesn’t matter? what does might affect on hard light? sorry im new to the game and im trying to understand everything

      Hello Truth, white damage is precision based and yellow damage is might based. When you use one of your superpowers it will inflict yellow damage but if you continue with the construct combos they will inflict White Damage. This is the reason why light is precision based because most of the damage is done by construct combos. Hope this answer your question 🙂

      Hello Psych, Light DPS is all about using light construct combos. You can start with Chompers and then use any superpowers and continue with the UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBO. You have to keep using Construct Combos as much as you can. Using Chompers is only viable at the beginning of the rotation

    Hi there i use hl for a long time now and i use melee and range togheter and deals a lot of damage i start with chompers , then the infinite combo starting with ram, fan,impact,LB,minigun,repeat or if i see there is a chance to go melee then i use entrap,boxing,then back to range infinite combo because if you stay to long melee your dead with hl and light barrier dont give you the chance for staying Alive and iT use to much power iT just dont work for dps i start with ram instead of fan ram puch back the adss fan pulls them to you and somtimes its to dangerous to start with iT better pusch away then pull back then impact puch back and you stay out of the danger zone and ofcourse robot sidekick alwyas on and dont forget strafing run for supercharge this works best for me dont forget to slow down the infinite combo for more damage if you go to fast you dont get the extra damage

    What is a good amount of precision at 175?
    I currently have around 6.5k but with my powers buffs it’s around 7.5k
    I looked at Wavedox but I know that it’s faulty sometimes so I’m just asking here

      Hello Mysterious, thanks for your question. It is hard to say how much stats you should have at certain CR. However, you should focus on having the highest amount of Skill points so your character stats will increase. At the moment, having more than 180 skill points heavily empower your DPS.

    I’ve been reading all the comments.. I use to play on the ps3 and haven’t played in forever.. downloaedd the game on my Xbox one started over as a speedster/bow/light user.. I just hit level 9 and I’m basically just using claws and ram. I’m not sure what to spec next. My question is what’s next. I don’t want to use my points on things I don’t need. I use to be all into this game and I’m glad I’m back I’m just having trouble with my load out as a dps . So any recommendations please feel free. Oh and I’m looking for a clan that’s active and willing to help. Hero side here.

      Hello Kasx, thanks for your question. You shouldn’t worry that much about where to spend your power points because you are able to reset anytime you want plus at that level you should only focus on reaching level 30 where the game really starts. If you want to know where to spend your points first, you should first unlock superpowers from Assault Tree and then Support Tree.

    Hey what’s the point of doing dps by melee?I aways thought of it as being risky so I always tried to go for ranged dps with any power and it worked well.Does melee dps deals more damage?If so, it can only be used for solos and duos right?I dont know what to say about Fan, I always go using still ranged combo no matter if use Fan or Light Blaster(ofc I use Chompers to start with as you said).But I see no use of Fan in the loadout but just the benefit of unlocking the combo though

      Hello Vertheros, with recent updates Melee and Mid Range DPS deal more damage than RANGE DPS which is why being near your target will deal more damage than you been far from it. However, these is recommended for solos, duos, missions where bosses can’t one shot you.

      Fan is one of the powers required for UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS also it can be great for stunning enemies 🙂

    I got a level 30 HardLight powered character that uses hand blasts for weapons on xbox one but I have no idea on what loadout to play with for good dps cos i’m still getting my ass handed to me

    at the moment I run the damage loadout that consists of
    –Light claws
    –Minigun
    –Spikequake
    –Whip thrash
    –light blast
    –Ballistic Assault
    my playstyle— I mix up my melee with range attacks

    someone please recommend a loadout for me!!!!

      Hello Tevin, thanks for your question. If you want to deal heavy damage with LIGHT DPS you should learn how to use UNLIMITED LIGHT COMBOS which are listed in these guide. Using weapon attacks is not needed for Light DPS unless you are low powered

      The beauty of LIGHT CONSTRUCT COMBOS is that you can save some power and inflict constant damage to your enemies but be careful on being interrupted or blocked because it will stop your combos

      Hello Eion, it is hard to say how much stats you need for your power. However, 166 Sp is a great number. If you have also precisions MODS equipped i am sure you have a modest number of Precision

      Hello Eion, unfortunately if you try to use spike quake and chainsaw in any loadout you wont be able to have full Range Combos unless you use those 3 iconic points to unlock Spikequake, Whip Thrash, and Chainsaw

      Thanks for the great guides! I’ve used them for the starting point for all my toons (and I’ve had many!).

      I believe you may be discounting the value of chainsaw. Not only is chainsaw a high damage ability, it is unique in the light tree in that it is self-chainable. Chainsaw (hold) will combo right back into chainsaw with a tap if used after the first to fourth tap (hold after the fifth tap will switch to Claws). As a bonus, it has a chance to panic enemies, particularly hold. The 3 or 4 tap swipes are enough to finish most smaller mobs (and many adds in boss battles, making it great for crowd control). Chainsaw hold is also traveleble, so it can be used if movement is required to get to a new target.

      To get to chainsaw, I sacrifice entrap, light barrier, strafing run and (as a personal choice) weapons expert, then use restore as my emergency shield/heal and to complete the support chain to light barrier. Whether to drop robot sidekick or weapons expert (or even tactical genius) is certainly open to debate and possibly personal preference. I can say that with this loadout, I have been high, if not top, on the damage list in most of my runs.

      A more controversial choice I have made is to use empowered channeling instead of max damage for my hands mod. This makes chainsaw (hold) uninterruptible as well as adding 15% defense while holding. Since most of my combos open with fan or chainsaw, the loss is only 10%.

      My preferred combo is Fan->Claws[5]->(optional Minigun, useful for travel)->Ram->Whip Thrash[2]->Impact->Chainsaw[3-4 repeat then hold]. On interrupt, I jump right back in with the unlimited Chainsaw combo.

      Just my 2 cents…

    I’ve been looking through the forums and everybody seems to agree that light dps compared to other isn’t the great compared to other classes. Is this true? Cause I haven’t noticed yet through my play through

      Hello Zach, most powers have been balanced over the latest Game Updates, light included. As long as you have a decent amount of Skill Points you will be great at DPS. There are players with 200+ skill points who use any powers and they get on top of Scoreboard only for their SP

      Hello Sh3boly, thanks for your question. It is hard to compete with Earth and Sorcery because they have different advanced mechanics and they depend mostly on their Pets damage. However, if you have a huge amount of Skill Points no matter what power you are your character will deal heavy damage.

      For Light in particular, using weapon attacks is not required for DPS Rotation but i usually recommend one handed because it is a balanced weapon for melee and range situation

    not a bad loadout there but for more damage i use Inspiration recharge chompers and neo-venom bost as they all clip together well you get the full buffs with an added might tick from neo-venom bost as you are doing Precision damage when doing combos which activates the added dot that will hit adds and carry on hitting the new set until cooldown

      Hello Eion, it is hard for us to create PVP Loadouts. I personally use all my PVE Loadouts in PVP Instances. However, it is hard to use ADVANCED MECHANICS in PVP so learning how to block, interrupt, and deal damage with weapon attacks is what will increase your PVP Winning Chances

    Hey I’d love your opinion on my DPS loadout. I really like it but I don’t think I’m putting out as much damage as I should. So I only use impact, triage, light barrier, and strafing gun. I send out an impact, combo the chainsaw, then gun, then whip, then back to impact again. I think it works pretty well, especially with bloack breaking and interrupting and I really don’t want to have to same loadout as everyone else. If the better loadout isn’t a huge difference then I’m okay with being an average DPS I think. Maybe I’ll put it on another armory loadout. I also have tried those loadouts and I kept screwing up with the timing of the combos (since they’re all tap, not hold).

    Thoughts?

      Hello August, i think your loadout is great for DPS Melee situations because chainsaw and Whip Thrash will get you near your enemies. In fact, this can deal more damage than the loadout provided in this guide. However, we need to provide balanced builds and loadouts for all situations (Melee and Range).

      It is great you manage to understand how Light Advanced Mechanics work and changing up some powers in your loadout according to your needs. In my opinion, your loadout can be great for PVP, challenges, missions, and duos where melee situations are more likely to happend

      Thanks so much 🙂 Yeah, with some bosses you just can’t get close enough to use this load out, or you’ll get knocked out in 2 seconds. Good to know that I’m doing a large amount of damage though 🙂 I still can’t seem to get very close to the output of other people my level though. Maybe I just suck lol I also haven’t played in a while and I hear they added some mechanics to light to help with that. Anyways, thank you!!

      Hello Richard, all our guides provide power points distribution. Spending your Skill points is all about experience and you must focus your skills to improve your main role statistics.

      It is recommended to spend your skills this way:
      * Unlocking recommended movement skills
      * Unlocking Main Weapon Mastery and Cross Weapon Masteries
      * Unlocking Weapon Masteries that provides as many main statistics points as you can.

      Hello Gabriel, if you are new to the game i recommend you to start with Ice because it is one of the easiest powers and deals great damage too. You can choose any mentor you want because it wont affect your gameplay at high COMBAT RATING. For beginners, one handed and brawling are great weapons. However, you should focus on learning how to use advanced mechanics of your power

      Ice has best power recovery and is powerful at any range. I almost never need to use weapon attacks. Light is the best for trolling because you use superpowers to build combos. I can do 3000 damage per hit on adds in phantom zone while trolling.

    This information is offl. Better way to produce higher damage is tap triangle and clip any ability from the tray that would start the Light combo. The powers above delay getting to the higher AM damage, resulting in lower DPS numbers.

So using “Recharge [2]”, “Inspiration [3]” and “Chompers [1]” in the rotation is now viable as long as you manage to restart Construct Combos between 3 seconds”

    The second you use the Chompers, Inspiration or recharge the AM boosted damage is removed after an interruption. Instead using one of the tray abilities that start the AM is the correct way to keep higher damage numbers after being interrupted.

    Also using Inspiration, Chompers and Recharge at any point during the AM is an automatic damage loss, simply keep the combo chain going.

    Another note to add about Light DPS is that holding Light Blast and MiniGuns for the 5 ticks results in better damage numbers.

    Light Blast should be in the loadout, when in close range if a player stop and uses Light Blast it can hit really hard, 50K plus sometimes.

    Loadout: Fan, Light Blast, Chompers, Strafing Run, Light Barrier, and Sidekick Robot

    Do not waste power points on Recharge, Inspiration or Hand Clap. Instead get Encase, Light Barrier, Sidekick Robot.

    When going into combat use Phantom Range Attack and clip an ability to start Light combo. Do not stop your combo unless using Cola, Trinket, Supply Drop, Orbital or buff cola. Than go right back into the combo without using buffs such as Inspiration or Recharge is a major damage loss.

    On bosses or group of high health adds start rotation with Strafing Run if available. Use Chompers and clip with Light barrier when doing pick ups.

    Keep Sidekick Robot out. He averages 500 DPS.

    Mods should be Precision in reds, yellow should be power and precision, and blues health and precision.

    White mod, back should be Berserker to get the added damage if your health drops below 30% and breakout regeneration (that is a tank mod).

    Following the rotation in this guide results in really bad damage. I have seen many Light players wonder why they are behind me in damage by 25% or more. It is due to this guide and it misinformation on Light.

    Hello, I’ve noticed that you do not include any preferred weapon styles in any of your guides. Is this because weapon choices are not relevant to the builds, or are there no actual “preferred” weapon choices when it comes to combat and stats?

      Hello Phlogis, there is not actual preferred weapon choice and it is not relevant for the builds. Specially for light that deals most of its damage with UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS.

      We recommend One Handed, Brawling, or Dual Wield, but choosing a weapon is a player choices and depends on how confortable you feel by using the weapon

      I have a question. Where is the power restore for hard light? I’ve played nature and munitions and I just don’t see my power bar being affected any more than what my hit counter does to regenerate power.

      Hello Question, you can use this same loadout but you must mixed your dps between Weapon attacks and Construct Combos. We dont provide PVP loadouts because there are tons of way you can be great at PVP that is almost impossible for us to define a better loadout when most of DPS in pvp is around blocking, interrupting and doing weapon damage 🙁

      Although almost any weapon is good and often depends on personal preference, I’ve found that using brawling allows you to utilize the power regeneration when the hit counter reaches 5 hits. That way, it assists with power regen sooner than the use of other weapons and considering light combos are weapon based, the counter is best utilized for the power regen effect. Hope this makes sense, it’s a little late and I wanted to add my two cents into the mix.

    I have a toon named Will Centurion o USPC Server, he has been hardlight for almost a year now. I have to recommend players to Spec Power Points into Whip Thrash and Snap Trap, instead of going down and getting Inspiration. This will allow you to be able to use a very quick and effective Ranged Combo that will include more CC, or juggling of enemies which allows you to keep your combo up without interruptions. You can start with Light Blast, then hold ranged into Mini-Gun, tap ranged for Ram, tap ranged for Fan, hold ranged for Impact, hold ranged again and you are back to Light Blast…… now with snap trap available at any time during the combo, either on Minigun, or Ram, you hold Melee for Snap Trap, then hold ranged and you are again at Light Blast… so hit the RESPEC machine in the WatchTower folks and give that variant combo a try.. I am confident it will prove to be the best addition to a Hard Light Combo..

    Also on behalf of the gamers I play DCUO with daily… Please build an Armory for Controller Role as well, the number of (just DPS) is way out of control. You are many times required to switch roles during the more challenging, and most rewarding pieces of content in the game.     I noticed that you list Penatrating Strike for the chest mod, that no longer applies to any DPS. Many testers have found Core Strength to provide a slight advantage, like .5-1% more damage with Core Strength equipped.

    Since HL is a precision based power players can gain a slight increase by using the Precision mod in their shoulders and leggs, this slight bonus is better than the ability critical chance as HL AM combo criticals are considered weapon attacks and use the weapon critical % chance and damage.

    A range rotation I like to use on bosses that add DOT is Fan-> Impact -> GH -> LB -> MG -> RAM -> etc.. On single targets the small DOT can help HL improve damage out.

    i would like to stress that MODS are important. I keep seeing 130 DPS players without any white or socket mods. When I run with them I do 4x there damage. Having the proper mods equppped and ensure a player is getting the most out of his or her toon.

    I have been HL since I started playing. I have also been very active testing and validating all of HL changes over the past year. Since GU43 HL does a minimal more damage when using a hybred Chomppers and Inspiration loadout than a pure AM. When I saw minimal, we are talking in the 1%. That was before GU50. With GU50 we now do more damage going straight into the HL AM. No need to apply chompper. Use inspiration and go right into it. WM also reduces your damage output as you miss the auto increase in your crits when you use it.

    My rotation is Fan -> Impact -> Light Blast -> MiniGun- -> Ram -> Fan, etc…

    I do not hold LB or MG for any ticks. I go through the rotation as fast as possible. I produce 5-10% more damage. With high health adds HL does well due to the fast ticks it does with the AM.

    Go full precision on your mods, Legs and shoulders go full red socket for the added precision value, ability crit chance does not help the HL AM.

    Melee AM is worthless in end game expect on duos and solo, other wise use the Range AM.

    Hello. I’m going to be making a Sinestro Corps Batman-inspired character. I would like to replace two of the powers with the iconic Batarang Multi-Shot and Robot Sidekick, to compensate for the lack of gadgets. Which two powers should I replace, and which two power points should I replace? If you don’t catch my drift, I’m obviously going to require two power points for the iconics, so which two power points that you have spent in the tree should I “unspend” put into the iconics.       You can get replace Chompers, Inspiration, and Strafing Run from the loadout but your DPS will come from Light Combos AM. You can avoid getting Hand Clap – Inspiration – Strafing Run to have 3 Power points available for Iconic Tree

      With these changes, you will still be able to use most of the RANGE UNLIMITED COMBO and use batman iconic powers

      Most players including me prefer having rewards for doing low CR Content. DCUO is changing the game so more players can play the game. However, they are trying hard to do it that some changes are still causing trouble for veterans players 🙁

      I personally raise my Combat Rating fast with Available Content and no using replay badges. In fact, changing to Marks of Victory is the way they try to get people buy replay badges because some players cant wait to the next day or week to revisit the instance. Doing Mission, Challenges, duos, alerts, and raids is enough to raise your CR. I recommend you to be patient and enjoy the game. Rushing your Combat rating will cost you a lot replay badges and money

      Hello EK, it is hard to say how much precision is good for your CR. I can tell you that it is recommended that your skill points always be higher than your combat rating. You should do some feats. Also with GU50, Light AM will be improved so your damage will probably be higher 🙂

      Hello Eion, with GU50 Light Advanced Mechanics will be improved. However, you must know that the highest CR now is 126 so players with that CR will crush your DPS heavily. With latest revisions, DCUO Devs are trying to balanced all powers to be great and GU50 will improved Nature, Light, and Electricity so i recommend you to raise your cr to 120+ and be prepared for GU50 🙂

      HL has a few rotations available to do good damage. As they mentioned though CR matters, but not only CR with HL. HL is a precision based power to maxmize your damage as HL you need skill points and proper mods.

      Chest: Precision and Health
      Head: Precision and Power
      All others should be pure precision.

      My loadout is: Fan, Chomppers, Grasping Hand, Strafling Run, Light Barrier and Sidekick Robot

      With HL AM you do not need to use Chomppers or Inspiration to maxmize your damage, like other think.

      I go Fan -> Impact -> LB-> MG->Ram-> Fan, etc…

      I go through that rotation as fast as possible. With that rotation I can keep up with 124/126 Quantum DPS as a 122 HL DPS. I of course have 180+ SP and I’m correctly modded to maximize my precision.

      My loadout also allows you to do melee damage is you want.

      Fan -> Light Claw 5x -> Swing 5x -> Boxing 3x -> Impact -> LB -> MG -> RAM -> Fan, etc….

      I do not recommend melee unless you are in a solo or duo. Otherwise use the HL range AM.

    Hello, I just wanted to know what’s the best weapon to use with HL? I’ve seen alot of older blogs and threads saying Brawling, MA, and rifle. My villain uses brawling which can combo into MA with WM. However, I also have a new HL hero who uses handblast, which can combo into brawling with WM. I think that would be absolutely deadly with HL. What do you think? Does weapon choice even matter?

      Hello Tilton, we usually recommend One Handed because it is one of the most balanced weapon for melee and range situation. However, as a Light dps, if you master your unlimited construct combos you wont need to deal damage with weapon. However, when you are low powered that is the moment weapon become useful.

      For Light, i would choose Brawling because of its Shuriken Storm Mastery which allows me to increase hit counter fast and recover power to use my UNLIMITED RANGE COMBO. HandBlaster has Pulse Beam that also help you increase hit counter fast but its damage is not as good as Brawling: Shuriken Storm Mastery.

      Hope this allows you to choose the best weapon for your Light Character 🙂

      Hello David thanks for your question. With recent Updates, Quantum, Munitions, and mental are considered the most powerful Powers in DCUO because of its Advanced Mechanics. Some other powers can deal enough damage to compete with them unless your competitors have the same equipment and CR so just maybe your damage will be as high as them 🙁

      The build and loadout explained here let players use LIGHT Advanced Mechanics but Combat Rating and Equipment will be crutial for being at TOP of DPS.

      Your skill distribution idea is correct. You should prioritize the skills in this way: Precision, Might, Crit Attack Chance, Crit Attack Damage, Health, Power, and Defense (not recommended for DPS).

      It is true that as Light DPS you dont need Power but for challenge, duos, missions, or PVP sometimes you need to cast your superpowers several times and having power statitics will be great in these moments.

    You pick up strafing run but it’s not mentioned in the notes or rotation when it is ideal to use it. I’d assume if available it should be used after inspiration (and a WM combo) and before starting the unlimited combo chain.

    Is the 4+ second combo buff good enough not to recast chompers clipped with inspiration, or should the rotation always restart once the cooldown ends, assuming T6 and enemies will last through another full rotation. On a dummy it feels like the latter is true and inspiration should always be refreshed, but the difference doesn’t seem huge and without a parser I can’t be certain.

    Should light blast and minigun be clipped or allowed to run their full animation. at CR112 I’m getting ~2k ticks on each and while ram can crit over 6k the fast ticks seem like the better option.

    Thank you for any help with these queries, I only started playing DCUO 4 months ago, and Light only a month ago.

      Light is a great choice, it deals great damage and its unlimited combos are great and provide low power consumption.

      * Strafing Rum is not mentioned in the rotation because it should be used when the player considered useful (hitting multiple targets, burn down a boss), it is not benefit from Weapon mastery crit bonus so you dont need to use it after.
      * Weapon mastery combos are optional because the highest damage will be done by using your UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS because it is LIGHT ADVANCED MECHANICS.
      * You must let Light Blast and MInigun animation go full to deal great damage to multiple enemies. However, if only 1 enemie is ahead then you should go straight to ram by avoiding full Light Blast or Minigun animation. You can also check construct combos description to find another UNLIMITED RANGE COMBOS that doesnt use any of those channeled powers
      * Depending the situation recasting chompers and inspiration but i think that using only UNLIMITED RANGE COMBOS for more than 4 seconds deals greater damage than restarting the rotation once the cooldown ends.

      Hello Sylwester, i think your suggestion is a great way of using Light Advanced Mechanics. So this build and loadout allows you to use both DPS mechanics: Weapon Mastery and Advanced Mechanics.

      Depeding the situation you may choose what mechanics suit you better. For example, in PVP using Chomper and Fan + Combo is a great choice, but when you are facing a BOSS in Raids that usually takes long to kill it using Advanced Mechanics as you mentioned is a viable way of doing DPS.

      Hello Sylwester, using your weapon mastery combos in a long rotation is optional. However, it is great to have Fan boosted by weapon mastery crit bonus that is why most DPS choose fast weapons for inflicting great damage in short time. I recommend you to try other weapons such as One Handed, Dual Wield

    ello again, I have a problem, I have 114,5cr, power light, 10 items is 100cr, 206 skill points is allocated perfectly to “Critical attack chance” , standard 4390 precision, when I use trinket and flex cola Precision is up to 6600, I do everything in the guide, my rotation is perfectly, and when I  play with another player 113cr and low 150 skill and his power is quantum, At the end of the game I have 30% up to 40% less Damage as quantum, why quantum power is so strong! , it should not be reduced? This difference should not be, I create my character four years and one player quantum after a year of playing has a smaller cr, less skill points and has a half bigger Damage from me, it’s very annoying! Why is there such a difference, .. This quantum is a comedy or right now light is comedy!,  What now, as I want to catch up with this power player who plays a year, I have to spend the money and the change power to quantum? Maybe Sony It should raise the power of light? .

      Hello John, Quantum Advanced Mechanics is considered the most powerful Advanced Mechanics in-game for the moment. Many players have the same concern and they already post it in DCUO Forums. For what history have shown, DCUO care about their community thoughts so it is just matter of times that Quantum get intervened by DCUO.

      DCUO is trying to balanced the game so it is more likely that quantum gets nerfed than Light (which already have AM) gets damage raised

      Hello Sylwester, for Light DPS using weapon mastery is completely optional in rotation because light can use UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS for dealing damage. However, Using two haded: Arrow Storm Mastery is a great choice but you must know that your attacks will be powerful but slow.

      When i start unlocking my skill points, i firstly unlock Main Weapon Mastery, Cross Weapons Mastery, and then Weapon Trees that have Critical Attack Chance.

      Hello Keltix thanks for your questions and support. For new players, brawling, one handed, and dual wield are great weapons. However, i always recommend One Handed or Dual Wield due to both deal great damage, are fast and easy to manage, and hit multiple targets at the same time. Rifle is a very slow weapon so youll have some problems knocking your enemies down fast.

      As a DPS, you should focus on dealing damage as fast as you can before your enemies knock you out. However, you can also use UNLIMITED RANGE AND MELEE COMBOS to deal damage as a Light player.

    I have seen many loadouts for HL ranging from the one here to ones where you get the Hit Counter to 15 and use WM into Chomppers clip with Inspiration clip with Recharge than into HL combo from Fan. I have tried them all. Also, for whoever stated that you cannot get Ranged and Melee combo does not realize that you can and still have 2 power points left.

    As for inspiration vs. selecting other powers, that is if you want to maximize damage for a short time. Another way around that is using the DOT of Grasping Hand or Snap Trap on a single target and using those rotations.

    For me I like what I have and I will admit it isn ot the best in damage but it does enough as I am no scoreboard chaser, I’m a group player first.

    Loadout: Chomppers, Grasping Hand, Fan, Strafling Run, Light Barrier, and Sidekick Robot.

    My range rotation is Sidekick Robot, clip with Light barrier, WM into Chomppers, WM into Grasping Hand into HL range combo.

    My melee rotation is Sidekick Robot, clip with Light barrier, WM into Chomppers, WM into FAN into HL melee combo up to boxing to Impact -> Fan back into Melee.

    I like this loadout as Light Barrier is a life saver when needing to do pick and is a great breakout ability to have in one arsenal.

    Being a scoreboard chaser is bad it requires best gear, high SP, and VI Expert mods and the majority of the community does not have high SP, best gear, or VI Expert mods.

    I recommend finding a loadout that works for you as a player, stop trying for the best damaging one as these are always changing.

    my loadout is chompers + neoveneno + inspiration (clip ) + Grasping Hand ( short combo) + Robot Sidekick + supercharging .

    I think I have 2 buffs and the robot is more beneficial.

    Do you think it’s better to have the first combo ?

      Hello Jhon, i think your loadout is a great variant for Light DPS. However, it is hard for us to test it and tell you what loadout and rotation is better. In solo, duos, or missions, I believe our rotation is better because it provides you UNLIMITED MELEE COMBOS. A successful build and loadout must provide you access to MELEE and RANGE UNLIMITED COMBOS. However, your experience will tell you what is the best way to control your character 🙂

    So i tested out this build and Fan really didn´t do it for me.So instead of Fan i got Whip Thrash. So my combo goes Light Claws-Minigun-Ram-Whip Thrash-Impact-Light Blast-Minigun…
    For bosses i start with Chompers cliped with Inspiration then my combo. Been doing really well for me

      Hello Ashuruman, it is a great idea to unlock Whip Trash. However, Light DPS for High Content needs to have UNLIMITED RANGE COMBOS unlock so check your build and loadout for seeing if that is available 🙂

    MY loadout is light claws,minigun, ballistic assault, heat vision hard light shield, and word of power with hand blasters it’s different and unique i generally do great dps with it however what is your opinion on this particular loadout is it sufficient and ok or do you suggest i change it up.

I just recommend you that only use 1 supercharge power instead of 2 and choose Strafing Run which is the most powerful SUPERCHARGE power

      Hello Black Wulf, In PVP, it is impossible to follow a rotation because PVP is more about using your weapon attacks, blocking, interrupting, crowd control, and using your superpower (this is the last thing that matters in my opinion). That is why players below level 30 can actually win Players with Combat Rating 100+.

      This build and loadout can easily be used in PVP. However, if you manage to get Light Barrier it would be great for dealing damage and protect yourself.

      The important thing about being Light is that you use more than 4 continue CONSTRUCT COMBOS to get your damage Increased. This is possible in 4vs4, 5vs5, or 8vs8. In 1vs1 or 2vs2, you must find balance between your weapon attacks and construct combos

    I have a lvl 88 HL DPS and I’ve always put might based in my sockets.. Wouldn’t this give you more damage with your unlimited combos then precision, since precision is weapon based? In raid I hardly, if ever, use my weapon.. I only and I do mean only, use the fan ranged infinite. So if this is what I mostly use (and I find myself out dpsing characters upwards of lvl 100) why should I use precision instead of might.

    If you could please fully explain.. Becuase if i am doing something totally wrong I will feel like an idiot as I have spent so many marks and money to socket all my gear with might.

      Hello Cam, your construct combos are precision based. When you attack you see yellow damage and white damage, yellow damage is powered by might while white damage is powered by precision. When you use a superpower yellow damage is up (might based) but right after activating your construct combos or just weapon attacks only white numbers you will see (precision based).

      Using your RANGE UNLIMITED COMBO only the first superpower will display yellow numbers and then until your RANGE UNLIMITED COMBOS ends, only white numbers will inflict damage to your enemies.

      I’ve been using brawling shuriken storm mastery. As a hard light character you don’t necessarily need you weapon mastery as much as other people do and with unlimited combos you don’t need power as much either. I use brawling shuriken storm mastery because it has shortest cast time of 1.8 seconds getting 7 to 8 hits over that 1.8 seconds making it extremely easy to get your power back and let the controller focus his instant power to the people who need it more than you. Brawling is my person preference because of the extremely fast hit count it can generate, its short cast time and ease of weapon mastery success. With hard light, i think you’re good with any weapon mastery that generates multiple hits with less than 3 button hits.

      I prefer using brawling for raids and some alerts depending on the alert. Some alerts i switch to one handed. I personally prefer dual wield but i’m not good at successfully activating my power afterward so I use one handed. For pvp, and i hate these comments too, use whatever your most comfortable with. I’ve seen people trash others with 2h, 1h, dw, you name it, I’ve seen beasts who use it. PvP depends more on weapons and block breaks/interrupts than pve so having something your comfortable with is essential.. I personally use brawling and bow. I usually have the toughest time against people who use hand blast and dual pistol. I’m just not good at the interrupts and block breaks against them. Hope this helps. Good luck guys!

      both actually, i know that brawling is not the best for dps because its damage is low and cost reduction is low, but as a hard light user i dont find weapon mastery that essential with unlimited combos so i would rather have a weapon mastery that restores my power faster so i can get back to my heavy dealing HL combos as fast as possible. For controller its almost a no brainer to me, you should use brawling. 1.8 seconds with 7 hits is hard to miss out on, cost reduction is low but when your energy is full you can switch the enhanced shuriken mastery which i think gives you 14% reduction which is still low but being able to get 35 hits in 9 seconds will definitely make up for it.

Is damage per second more substantial than what weapon mastery offers? What kind of increase to crit does inspiration give?

      Hello Seals on Saturn, there are so many builds that which allow you to use multiple possible variations in UNLIMITED COMBOS. It is hard for us to explain them all so we offer you one of the best loadouts for MELEE and RANGE UNLIMITED COMBOS.

      I dont know the exact ammount of damage increased when you use unlimited combos for more than 4 Seconds. However, my construct combo damage is so high that you dont need to use inspiration or chompers to deal great damage

      With this improvement in CONSTRUCT COMBOS, there is no need to deal damage with your weapon because the damage increasement after 4 seconds construct combos will be as good as your weapon mastery combos.

      Inspiration increases your precision and critical strike, it is a big increasement but you cant focus on doing UNLIMITED COMBOS and you will still doing great damage

      Hello Jordan, i have try them both and i think that both are equally fast in weapon mastery combos. However, Dual Wield can access its weapon mastery combos with multiple taps and hold combination while One Handed has its weapon mastery combos combination very clear.

      I personally use One Handed more, but i find them both equally great.

      Relentless Precision increases your precision after the HIT COUNTER is higher than 9. This is possible by using more than 9 weapon attacks or construct combo attacks consecutively. Hit counter is reset when you use a super-poweer or when you dont hit your target with weapon attacks and construct combos.

      Light DPS can reach more than 9 in the hit counter easily with their weapon attacks or UNLIMITED COMBOS. However, celestial combos are limited and they need to use another superpower to use a combo, so celestial can only reach more than 9 in the HIT COUNTER with weapon attacks which is not optimal for a DPS to only use weapon attacks.

      This is why Relentless Precision is only recommended for LIGHT DPS rather than CELESTIAL DPS or RAGE DPS

Since a few Gambe Updates back, pets are doing great damage and now that Light only need 1 superpower to access melee and range unlimited combos they see that having a robot sidekick will only increase their damage a little

    Ok so here’s my question. If WM is optional, do I still need to spec into it? I guess what I’m asking is, with 114 sp would the precision be the same if I took the 5 or 6 weapons that have 6point cost +7 or take 4 weapons with WM and their 3point cost +25 might/precision?

However, it is also recommeded that you unlock some critical damage and critical chance after spending your skill points in your main weapon and cross weapons

I personally prefer Snap trap but for having unlimited melee and range combos, light blast must be unlocked and it is beloe grasping hand. If you try to unlock snap trap youll need to sacrifice unlocking inspiration (great precision buff) or dps iconics buff (3% crit chance and 10% crit damage).

    I prefer keeping Light Barrier for breakout purposes.

    Rotation:
    1. Chompers clipped with Neo Venom Boost,
    2. WM Mastery to Fan
    3. Fan > Impact > Light Blast > Minigun > Ram > Fan (keep repeating until neo-venom boost is available)
    4. WM to opener.

    Light DPS with 13 power point you can obtain all the inifinte combo moves / powers for range and melee..
    The last two power points

    My loadout contains Light Claws, Chommpers, Grasphing Hands, Fan, Light Barrier, and Threatening Chainsaw. My final power point was placed into tactical genious.

    Range attacks I use Chomppers and if it is a single target use grasping hand and go through the rnage combo and if it iis mult-targets I start off with fan instead of grasping hand.

    Melee attack I start off with a claw attack and do chainsaw for the damage increase and than continue with the HL combo..

    Once I hit around 10-15 hits I repeat the chommpers or claw and continue…not sure if this is effective but it has proven pretty good in most of the content I run…

    You can swap out the iconic power point for Sidekick Robot if you wan for added constant damage…

    It’s been a long time since I have played DCUO. And am returning. So I was wondering if quantum is good.. I have been going around and finding a lot of negativity for the power….. And also is this a power that causes instant amount of damage during end game… Also if it does not and is DoT, could you recommend a power that causes instant damage along with weapon is most preferably appropriate to use with it? Sorry, a lot has changed to the game.

      Hello Getsuga, DCUO has been trying to balanced most of their powers and with weapon mastery the way of doing DPS has been completely changed. Quantum is not consider a great DPS power but for Controller it makes a really great job. Soon with G43, Light, Nature, Mental, and Ice will be revamped and they will deal great damage.

      In my opinion, all powers can be gread DPS and Tank/Healer/Controller. I personally use Electricity and Rage. But with GU43, i will give Light a try because it will deal great damage with no power consumption at all

    You will have to update the site again after update 43 is released. Update 43 is to bring about a change to the AM for HL. It brings in two endless combos: one range and one melee. The update also will increase the combo damage after 4 seconds have past, meaning each combo moves will do more damage. This returns the HL power to the olds days of using combos and the power going back to precision base mods for increase in damage…

      Strafing Rum is better than ballistic assault because it deals more damage and does not need you to channeled as ballistic assault requires. However, i am agree that ballistic assault has a badass animation 🙂

    In my experience with t6 content the iconic robot doesn’t get full uptime and it’s a waste of time to constantly be clipping from it just to keep it up, even with ranged loadouts, the bot will encounter many issues staying alive in raids such as Artifacts and Lockdown.

    In place of that spot on the loadout should probably be Light Barrier as it has it’s uses especially in the above mentioned raids. It can be used to cancel out of an animation early while say a boss is about to teleport on you, lunge or charge. It can also be used to avoid minor damage interruptions such as when you have the poison on you from Lockdown to rally someone or to even pick up the rifle despite having poison on you, it prevents minor aoe fodder as well from the bosses themselves, such as ground pound attacks.

    Light has huge issues with AoE in comparison to other power sets so the only thing you can even attempt to do is optimize what you have, regardless of how lack it might be.

    In this case, I would advise calculating how many targets there are to dps down.
    For example if there are only 2 – 3 targets and they are bunched together this is the perfect time to WM -> Grasping Hand/Fan -> Chompers. Repeat until dead.

    If there are more than three or the targets are too split to be hit by a fan then you’re best off just using WM -> Chompers and repeat.

    For single target situations, you might find better luck using WM -> Grasping Hand/Fan -> Hand Clap/Grasping Hand -> Chompers and repeat.

    You can also choose to use no WM at all with the exact same combos listed above except for your weapon combos, I can think of a few viable combos such as Hammer Throw from 2hand and Solar from HB. The benefit to this is power conservation and the damage isn’t that far off from WM but still seems less in some cases.

      I have played around with various Hard Light loadout for a while and I have learned something interesting with Hard Light DOT. First you have two types of DOT for HL. You have precision base DOT and might base DOT. Within the might base you have Spike Quake / Chompers or Grasping Hand / Snap Trap. Within the Precision base you can have grasping hands or Snap Trap. Snap Trap vs. Grasping Hand is up to the player but from my experience Snap Trap does more direct damage.
      The powers I have in my loadout are as followed: RAM, Chompers, Snap Trap, Fan, Light Shield, and Sidekick Robot
      When I play, I use the following rotation to take advantage of all types of in game damage. My primary rotation is WM into Chompers into WM go into SnapTrap combo to Fan into WM into Fan and finally into Ram combo to SnapTrap and combo to Fan. I repeat this combo. This rotation has AOE, burst, and DOT with a combination of Might and Precision. This rotation works within any content and if you have a good controller you can quickly flip through it without too much fuss.
      When selecting powers if you go with inspiration you have to give up Light Barrier and Sidekick robot; I prefer a shield that I use to gain the 60% damage buff right before I go into my rotation above. I know sidekick robot has its drawback, such as being killed during a raid, but the extra damage he does is constantly there when up. Inspiration last until 5 seconds have past or until you reset your hit counter, most players go power, WM, power, WM, etc… this doesn’t maximize the inspiration ability, especially if one has resentless precision neck mod equipped…instead that player would be go Power WM, WM, WM, etc… until the hit counter is reset. This setup worked well when clipped with Venom Boost, but does not produce the same damage numbers as the rotation above because it is missing out on DOT that the rotation provides.
      The rotation above benefits greatly from weapons that have range attacks that require the button sequence of tap and hold or tap and tap and weapons that provides AOE damage. My preferred weapon is Duel Wield.
      With a well balance group 1 – tank 2 controller 1 healer and 4 DPS players I average around 6-7 million in Necro and a bit more in Artifacts and even greater value in Lockdown.
      Whenever you run with another HL player and if the loadout are similar, you have to talk about who will use Chompers to activate the PI mechanic of HL. As you don’t want to overwrite each other powers.
      I have run with HL players that use a more unconventional loadout. The loadout includes the following.
      Inspiration, Recharge, Venom Boost, HL Shield/Group Shield, Light Shield, and Sidekick Robot .
      Clip trinket, inspiration, recharge and venom boost to gain the highest possible increase to precision. From the WM until the hit combo resets. Use shields as needed. This loadout is pure 100% precision and focuses on improving WM damage through an increase in critical attacks. I have tried this loadout and I just cannot get into using my weapon all the time.

    I play HL and I find that Robot Sidekick to be more effect than Inspiration. The rotation I use is Chompers -> WM -> Snap Trap combo to Fan -> Fan again -> WM -> Ram combo to Snap Trap combo to Fan, rinse and repeat.
    I also recommend for all DPS players to have a shield available and right after popping the shield use WM to get the 60% damage increase from Max Damage mod. I run this rotation in all instance and am usually one of the top DPS on the PS server.

I mostly fight range because I feel like ill die quick when fighting in close range. what weapon and combo do you recommend. I use two handed right now but it is to slow my loadout is inspiration – venom-chompers- grasping hand clip with fan – with my robot on the side. help me please.

      Hello Eazybutton, we recommend for DPS fast weapon such as One Handed, Dual Wield, Staff, and Hand Blaster. I personally use One Handed because it is great at melee and range DPS. One Handed: Solar Flame Mastery, Dual Wield: Explosive Shot Mastery, and Staff: Mortar Mastery deals heavy damage to multiple enemies and is fast at it.

      Being a Light power it is helpful if you have the UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS which will help you kill enemies fast (at melee) without power consumption, this is great for solo, duos, missions.

Doesnt give much but some is better than none) – straffing run….. I am currently 110 cr dps!!! Im always top 2 in damage!!! Very rare for me to get 3rd!!! This website has helped tons!!!!     Love your guides and tools and I advise the league I’m with (through our Facebook Group Page) about things of interest that you post (GU41 updates, Census Tools, CR Guides, etc.)

    However I currently use Dual Pistol level 94 as my main weapon but I’m told this isn’t the best to use for a DPS especially through ‘Necro’ as you jump around trying to do your weapon mastery. Do you have a preferred weapon of choice as a Light DPS?

    I would love to reset my loadouts and change weapons if that is required.

    Last question do you use the same loadout for PvP or do you have a specific loadout as I need to start doing PvP for more SP.

      For DPS we always recomend the fastest weapons such as One Handed, Dual Wield, Staff. I personally use one handed for dps with my characters it has great and fast weapon mastery combos.

      For PVP, i use almost the same loadout, but if i see another super-power can be great for the task then i change it but PVP is mostly about using your weapon, blocking and interrupting if you are new in PVP start doing Legends 🙂

    Hey,
    Your LO + rotation seems the best of a groupe of 5 – 2 adds i agree , But on a single target , it is not better to do Grasping + hold melee combo + Snap Trap cliped ?

    And for a group of +5 adds i think burnst Entrap is really better , the damage are not split per the number of adds.

    And last thing , I lost 15% of my DPS by using a Dual Wield 94 , i was with Hand Blaster 92 before , so i guess One handed , staff and brawling is same damage as Dual Wield

      With this build Snap Trap is locked so Grasping Hand is the one which let you combo into Fan. So you should choose between Grasping Hand or Snap Trap
      Using Entrap to damage multiple enemies is a great idea when we update this guide we will recommend it 🙂
      Depending on how long your weapon mastery combo is, it will deal more damage. We try to recommend fast weapon and combos to deal more damage in less time.

    Would it not be a bad idea to leap at your enemy with light claws if you are a dps? I have been a dps for a while and the meta seems to be that the only person in melee range is the tank. Is there some way to use light claws and not jump into the middle of the fight?

      Hello Ginga, i dont think Weapon Mastery Crit bonus affect light combos because it would be no fair that all your combo attacks heavily crits your enemies. Weapon Mastery Crit bonus only affect the super-power used after the weapon mastery combo impacts or completes

      Hello BornExtreme, you dont need Venom buff when you have Inspiration in your loadout. Furthermore, Neo Venom is not recommendable because it has long cooldown and lasts short time. We took out Robot Sidekick because as a Light DPS is more recommendable to have the UNLIMITED LIGHT COMBOS than having the robot.

    I’m not understand how this is considered a good guide at all. I’m sorry. I’m a fan of your guides for sure, don’t get me wrong. But this is not a good Light guide at all. The Light DPS guide you had in the past was much more efficient than this, I’m pretty sure it was much different, and I got much better DPS with it.

    This guide has no Whip Trash or Snap Trap activated, therefore the construct combo ends after you reach Ram or Minigun. You’ll have to keep using short-strung combos – which will ultimately drain your power quickly. You need to be able to cycle through a contruct combo without stopping. No need for the Robot Sidekick, no need for half of those support skills.

    I was trusting in this to help me out ’cause I wanted to switch out my Light DPS to something more efficient and I noticed that the troll guide was different – but the troll guide helped me – and this guide just made my Light user hard to play and not fun at all..

    Please think of a better build and stop justifying this one. It’s really bad information.

      I have multiple characters but this is why i prefer them and why they are my favorite:
      * Rage: for its rage combos and survival
      * Electricity: having my enemies electrocuted every time and its animation
      * Quantum: amazing crowd control super-powers, and watching my enemies stopped in time

      Im sure other powers can be more powerful than my favorites but i use them because i like their animations 🙂

      Hello James, by saying Weapon Mastery Combos we mean to use the combo gotten by unlocking cross-weapon mastery. For example, One handed has Dual Wield and Hand Blaster as cross-weapon. The “Weapon Mastery Combo” will mean using Solar Flame Mastery (obtained with Hand Blaster Mastery)

    Hello, I have essentially this build but I spec into impact and dont have robot sidekick (im doing a parallax kyle rayner type cosplay and sidekick doesnt really fit very well). My main question is about swing. Ypu see, I have one slot to spare and would like to use the power swing, which is combo’ed off entrap. The only problem is. I havent actually been able to perform swing. I have seen other people do it so i know it can be done but somehow ai cant get the timing right which is weird cos usually my timing is good. Do you know why it wont work?

      Hello Marcelo, the only way to use Swing is by using Entrap and then Tap Melee, I have try it myself and just Tapping Melee repeatedly after using Entrap will comboed into Swing. I hope this asnwer your question and help your cosplay character 🙂

And yes, I think weapon mastery have changed all powersets playstyle, it is the best way to deal damage now. You can use older playstyles but you will see that your damage will be lower than Weapon mastery based

      They are trying to promote multiple DPS mechanics, weapon mastery is the most powerful for now but in electricity and nature trees exist a sort of less power consumption after using super-powers in an especific order. We didnt dig much in that rotation because it is trying to emerge for now

    Just curious …

    1) Does weapon mastery increase damage from chompers?
    2) I primarily use dual wield and the explosive shot mastery mainly … which targets multiple enemies. I also use ram … which also targets multiple enemies. My current rotation is: weapon mastery into chompers, weapon mastery into the combo (ram, snap trap, fan), understanding that the snap trap and fan are single target … which is usually the most powerful enemy in front of me; rinse and repeat. Straifing Run when available. And, until recently, I was using the combo (hand clap, grasping hand, fan) to change things up some. Does this load out have any merit with the new upgrades? I have replaced the hand clap combo with inspiration … mainly because I had to unmemorize something to make room for inspiration.
    3) I don’t see snap trap memorized any longer?
    4) Wasn’t aware robot sidekick got an upgrade. I will be adding it to my rotation.

      I would like to add that I have put inspiration into my load out, and am clipping it with chompers … but also preceding it with a weapon mastery, and have noticed a notable increase in my DPS with T-6 mobs. Haven’t been able to include sidekick robot as of yet … as I am still of snap trap in my combo capabilities.

      On a side note, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to provide this site; it has helped me a lot with my damage output.

      1) Weapon mastery doesnt increase your super-powers damage but using your weapon mastery combos before a super-power (grasping hand) will give it 360% weapon mastery critical bonus increasement
      2) Weapon mastery Crit Bonus only applied to the first Tick of any super-power used. Using weapon Mastery combo and then Ram will decrease your damage buff to 35% and your light combo snap trap and fan will only deal 35% damage more. Hand clap also increase your damage by 35%. Furthermore, your weapon mastery combos deals more damage than your Light Combos but it needs a good damage buff (40% – 45% – 50%)
      3) Grasping Hand replace Snap Trap because both have light combo to Fan. This helps you to get enough skill points to unlock Robot Sidekick and boost your stats with iconics.
      4) Robot sidekick is dealing really good damage now, that is why we are promoting it in Weapon Mastery dps loadouts.

    How do I clip? I’m on the PS3 and I think I must be doing it wrong. I’ve tried to push both buttons down for a “clip” and I always only get one power to activate rather than both of them. Also, I haven’t got enough skill points yet to acquire weapon mastery because I’ve only got 29 the moment I hit level 30, so will the rotation still work without them? This guide has most people with endgame goals already that are higher tierd, so any pointers for us who have low cr and not enough skill points yet?

      Hello Sonny, you must press Chompers and then Inspiration in this order to activate them as a clip. You can clip any other super-power in this loadout by pressing Inspiration just before it. If you dont have enough skill points it is important for you to use Chompers to daze your enemies and power up your super-powers such as Grasping Hand and Fan which deal additional damage to Dazed enemies.

      I recommend you to get skill points as fast as you can, Make feats in this order:

      If you are still intereseted in unlimited construct combos, here is the rotation:
      Fan – Light Claws (Tap Melee x4) – Ram (Tap Ranged) – Whip Thrash (Tap Melee x2) – Impact (Hold Ranged) – Grasping Hand (Hold Melee) – Fan (Tap Range) …

      Hello Foolia, Robot sidekick damage has been increased with last game updates and it doesnt disable you from getting the Weapon Mastery Bonus. I have try it myself and it deals pretty good damage. Furthermore, with weapon mastery rotations there is no need to use multiple super-powers to deal damage.

I’ve just been using the assault skills and havent even touched support, but definetely will for that buff.       Hello Marcelo, for DPS we recommend you to use One Handed or Dual Wield. Hand Blaster is a range weapon so using it will cause you to get interrupt by enemies

    This is a interesting build and I’ll have to try it my issue is my dominance is only 53 were my percision is 1153 and my might is around 2400 so the pulling effects and stubs don’t happen and the shield doesn’t last as long. Right now I have lightclaws, grasping hand, light barrier, the helicopter super , strafing run and the train animation. My weapon is dual wields can u offer me any help I’m cr 97 and I don’t feel my damage output isn’t highly enough

      As light dps you must focus in precision, might, critical attack chance, and critical attack damage (in this order of importance). Light dps comes from the combos (precision based) more than powers (might base). This is probably why you feel your damage is low.

      All your mods and equipment stats should give you more precision than might, so there are tier sets 5 based in precision and other based in might. You dont need to worry about your dominance, and light shield uses restoration to last longer, but you shouldnt focus on restoration either.

      Now mastering lights combo is what you must focus from now on. This guide allows players to unlock infinite light combo. But they will only be powerful if you raise your precision

      Ok so when I start a boss fight I’ll lightclaws in then either continuously light claw or light claw-ram to chains then I’ll repeat. But a continuous light claw does just as much damage as my normal attack so should I stay away from this is shoot for a combo? Now in your combo when is a good time to pop the shield

      Hi Billy Uhrig, Light Claws being clipped in the right way (activate Light Claws + Hold Melee) can inflict lots of damage, but it will only increase all damage by 35%.

      I like to open melee DPS with Fan->Light Claws (Light Combo) and then Ram->Whip Trash (Light Combo). Spamming Ram + Whip Trash (Light Combo) is what i use when want to attack multiple targets at the same time.

      Now for range DPS, most of Light DPS uses Snap Trap -> Fan (Light Combo) -> jump -> Fan. This spam rotation is used for Raids and Alerts where you are powered over time with a controller.

      A good time to pop your Light Shield is when you are entering in attack mode or when you are low health. Sometimes in Alerts without tanks, I like to jump into the fight acting as a tank with my shield up, so the healer have a time to start healing me and put healer’s buff on me.

      So I was a little skeptical about changing my power trees around but I have to say after I did all I can say is wow. This is what I’ve been looking for if I use a flex soda it puts my percision up to 1460 and I put the hurt on consistently and more using this way more than I ever did with my old set and I rarely go down this is great thank you guys for the pointers!!! 🙂 🙂

      Hi Marlon, i personally use this loadout with my lantern. However, it is imposible to say if this is the best build and loadout in the game. Our guides try to give our community build and loadout to start and have the perspective of using it. But it will depend on the player if they want to follow or with more experience make its own build.

      What i can say to you is that our guides are recopilation of builds and loadout from some experienced player who use these powers.

      Our builds try to give players a guidance in what powers are the best to have in their loadouts. However, most players use the same build for both pvp or pve, unless they now have Armories that can switch PVP and PVE tiers and stats. I personally use this loadout for PVP and PVE, and i have realized that in pvp using your weapon, blocking, and interrupting is what makes you win instead of using your powers which takes you to spend all your power and die faster.

      This Light DPS build allows you to unlock what I called unlimited Light Combos and you can start this unlimited combos with Fan, Ram, Grasping Hand, and Snap Trap. I dont use chainsaw because it has long animation and machinegun can be used in the unlimited combo (Fan – Light Claws – Machinegun – Whip Trash – Impact – Grasping Hand – Fan)

      As Light DPS, you can make a lot of damage saving power because you just need to activate one power to have unlimited combos without consuming power
