Power Points Build

Quantum Dps Loadout

  1. Time Bomb: Create a moving rift in time that will slow down nearby enemies and eventually explode damaging, stunning, and knocking them down. Slowed enemies cannot attack. Destabilized enemies take extra damage. Create a localized time loop. Any damage caused by Time abilities is amplified and returned when Time Bomb ends. A portion of the power spent on damaging Time abilities also returns. Damage is further amplified when you are close to a target. Increases all damage by 35%. [Weapon Mastery Crit Excluded] [Vulnerable to Interrupt]
  2. Warped Reality: increases the chance that your enemies will take extra damage and be rooted or levitated in place. Causes your target to be and other nearby enemies to be Graviton-Charged, making them vulnerable to future fluctuations in gravity. Increases all damage by 40%. (keep it active)
  3. Anomaly: Create an anomaly to trap nearby enemies in time, damaging them and stunning them. Destabilizes enemies making them vulnerable to time dilation effects. Increases all damage by 45%.
  4. Warp Barrage: Open a time warp and teleport destructive projectiles at your enemies, damaging and knocking them down. Destabilized enemies take extra damage. Increases all damage by 50%.
  5. Tachyon Blast: Blast your enemies with a cone of temporal energy, damaging and knocking them down. Destabilized, Polarized or enemies that are Graviton-Charged take extra damage. Increases all damage 45%
  6. Temporal Vortex (25% Supercharge Cost): Bombard your enemies with a powerful pulse of energy, slowing time, dealing heavy damage and knocking them down. Slowed enemies cannot attack

Quantum DPS Rotation

    • “Time Bomb [1]” (activates Might Advanced Mechanics and Destabilized enemies take extra damage) clipped with “Warped Reality [2]” (inflicts Graviton Charge)
    • “Anomaly [3]” (inflicts Destabilize to enemies)
    • “Warp Barrage [4]” (Destabilized enemies take extra damage)
    • “Tachyon Blast [5]” (Destabilized or Graviton Charged enemies take extra damage)
    • Until “Warped Reality [2]” is enable, repeat Main Rotation without it
    • If “Temporal Vortex [6]” is enable, use it in the Main Rotation instead of “Warp Barrage [4]”
    • When “Warped Reality [2]” is enable, clip it after any Time Ability except “Time Bomb [1]”

Quantum DPS Tips

  • Using Weapon mastery combos is optional for this loadout and rotation
  • For DPS, “Max Damage” Tactical MOD is required for all superpowers to increase all damage by 60%.
  • Clip Gravity Well with another Time ability and keep it always active to increase your damage.
  • Anomaly, Warp Barrage, Tachyon Blast and even Temporal Vortex are affected by Time Bomb power interaction which will amplified Time abilities damage and hit back when it ends.
  • Using Anomaly, Warp Barrage, and Tachyon Blast as part as Time Bomb power Interaction will regenerate your supercharge bar.
  • While Time Bomb is active, weapon mastery crit bonus are disabled.
  • Having your enemies Destabilized will increase your Time Bomb, Warp Barrage, and Tachyon Blast damage.
  • When using Might Based advanced mechanics players will gain an additional 5% chance to crit and 25% crit damage for all super powers

Using my lower level Quantum player I was able to get 4 powers off before time bomb went off.

My loadout consist of Timebomb, Tachon Burst, Time Shift, Tachon Blast, and Anomaly. I am able to use all foure prior to Timebomb going off, this does require a controller to ensure that the last power is used. I hit for between 3-10K at level 16 with this loadout. Most Quantum players do not realize you can get a fourth power in the rotation but you have to be very fast. It works almost every time.

If you do not want to do this, do Time Barrage, Timebomb, and than 3 powers afterward.

Both of these require controllers as they do use more power than the sandard loadout.

    1. BigHal JOrdan

Now that I have had some time to play around a bit with a higher level quantum player with around 7K might, there are many ways to go about building a solid DPS quantum build with all of them close in damage out.
Loadout 1: Timebomb, Warp Barrage, Distortion Wave, Tachon Blast, Warped Reality, and Robot Sidekick
Loadout 2: Timebomb, Warp Barrage, Distortion Wave, Tachon Blast, Temporal Vortex and Robot Sidekick

Rotation 1: Warped Reality, Timebomb, Warp Barrage, Distortion Wave, Tachon Blast – rinse and repeat..
Rotation 2: Follow your same rotation but you do not have Warped Reality…

I have yet to try your rotation I’m usually hitting for around 30-50K with Timebome without any SC…With the SC that value goes up to about 70-90K. The highest hit I have seen has been 150K.

Okay, I am not one to go and lab. I have used your templates for awhile while trolling with quantum. I started dpsing to check it out. My build differs a bit. I’ll start with stats and move forward from there. 38 combat rating, 39 SP.
My bow tree has Power/power heal crit, Crit attack chance, Precision, might/precision, health dominance maxed out.
My dual pistols currently, and I will continue with the dominance as a focal point, has crit attack damage maxed and I have 3/6 in dominance. The missing points are scattered in the weapon tree in the event I choose to do weapon mastery. At this point I don’t see why I would.
exo mods I don’t do much more than beta which are vital/dominance and precision/might.

I initially used the anomaly in my rotation and found that I really don’t need it since other powers inhibit attacks from the enemy when deployed correctly.
so my rotation goes like this
Time bomb>>Warped reality>> explosive shot or Arrow storm (pending on number of mob)>>Tachyon Blast>>Warp Barrage>>Flurry Shot.
Repeat minus warped reality and explosive shot/Arrow storm 2nd time around.
Basically after that run you can start from the beginning because Warped reality will have ended by the time you release time bomb the 3rd time.

I’ve had a lot of success though I’m only 38. Mob control is awesome thus far for being dps. I’d like to know what you think in comparison to what you have and is this sustainable for latter stages in the game as long as I’m collecting the skill points along the way.

  3. MT

why you had chosen anomaly instead of distortion wave?
And also, warped reality have slow animation, dont you think that would be better to clip it before and not after time bomb, to be sure to use 3 attack spells any time after time bomb?
    thank you great work! :)

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello MT, we just recommend Anomaly because it deals the same damage as distortion wave but with less power consumption. You can get Distortion Wave instead if you prefer the animation and crowd control. Just the first time you need to use Time Bomb clipped with Warped Reality after that you should use warped reality when it is ready to be active.

  4. Len

Great read! ive been a quantum for a good while now and enjoy it more than any other power/role. I don’t dps too often since I enjoy trolling so much but the new layout is a blast. Have fun with it peeps!

  5. Avillion

I remember when I made my Quantum and when I hit lvl90 and out dps’ed a lvl 105 in a raid, was very impressed with the dmg this role deals at such an easy/steady pace.

Distortion Wave | Tachyon Blast | Warp Barrage | Time Bomb | Closed Loop | Quantum Tunneling

As you can see, all of these powers are Time based.
After a TB, Distortion Wave destabilizes enemies. Tachyon Blast and Warp Barrage both deal extra damage to destabilized mobs. (Proper rotation is key). If you are taking damage while doing your AM cycle, do Quantum Tunneling to get away (redirect hate) and give u room to use Closed Loop (35% sc) for a quick heal/shield. According to TB, it will deal more dmg if you are closer, but let’s face it, you don’t wanna be on the raid boss’s face if you wanna do consistent dmg.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Thanks Avillion for sharing your experience with our community. We really appreciate players sharing their thoughts with us

  6. Mike

I actually found a pretty good DPS loadout that i have had better luck with than this one. i use Time bomb, Distortion wave, Warp Barrage, Tachyon blast. then only if there’s a controller do i use gravity well, and occasionally throw in Warped reality. my iconics are Wisdom of soloman, and Tactical Genius.
    Time Bomb
    Distortion Wave
    Warped Barrage
    Tachyon Blast
and when time bomb finally goes off it restores all my power so i can do the rotation constantly without ever running out of power :)

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Thanks Mike for sharing your comment this will be very helpful for Quantum Players to try other rotations :)

  7. bob

Does putting vitalization & might vi expert mods in your head and shoulders and putting skill points in your vitalization traits help give more power back?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Bob, controllers gets power back from their own Power over time buff (which is improved by Vitalization) or their hit counter getting increased by a fast weapon (Hand Blaster: Pulse Beam, Staff: Mortar Mastery).

For a controller, having their vitalization boost as much as they can will assure them to restore big quantity of power

    2. Chris

Do all time powers boost the damage time bomb does or does the ones you listed above amplify them the most

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello chris, all time superpowers boost the damage time bomb deals after its animation finish

  8. Timo425

What exactly gives all that power back? What are the mechanics of it? Usually I get all my power back doing the rotation, but sometimes it happens that I lose it all and I’m stuck with almost no power left. Does only Warp Barrage give me power back, or any other Power too?
Might as well add a question about my quantum controller here too – are there other ways I can get my power back as a controller besides pot? Sometimes I noticed, as a controller, that I get a lot of power back, but it seems to be related to wm or something like that.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Timo425, when you use Time Bomb, advanced mechanics is active, so all time superpowers used between time bomb activation and time bomb animation ends will make damage again and restore portion of the time superpowers’s power used. This means that only superpowers used between that time will get their power refund.

Controllers get their power restore from weapon attacks that let them increase the hit counter fast or SODAS. Weapon Mastery combos like Staff: Mortar Mastery will make your hit counter increase fast and if you use a superpower after a succesful weapon mastery combo that superpower will get their power cost reduced.

The higher your hit counter gets, the most power you will get restored

    2. Chris

Is it true that after you cast time bomb, the more time powers you cast before it expose the harder time bomb hits?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yes Chris it is true. However, the cast time for Time Bomb only let you use a max of 3 time powers. So you need to use them as fast as you can

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Quantum Rayman, Penetrating Strike is better than Core Strenght for what i read on forums while ago

    2. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Alexx90, as a DPS you must focus on your might to deal great damage with your superpowers. Controllers are the one who must restore your power so having unnecesary power stats will affect your dps

    3. alexxx90

then using might do more damage than use power?
i have 174 sp full powa and the max damge is max 50000 is low

    4. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Of course Alexxx90, for Dps you must strictly focus on might or precision. Controllers power over time buff are the one that will mantain you powered all the time in raids. Your main task is to kill enemies fast and your superpowers will get enhanced with might rather than power

    5. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Alexxx90, for quantum DPS all damage done with new advanced mechanics get improved with MIGHT statistics. That is why quantum players equip MIGHT MODS in red sockets

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jensu, we have detailed information about how using skill points in every Weapon Mastery Guides. You can find those guides in here http://dcuobloguide.com/traits/weapons/. Just pick up your desired weapon and click the Weapon Mastery guide, in the Unlocking points for Roles section you will find how to use your skill points

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yes Ergoth, the only useful power from space tree is Warped Reality which can be helpful for challenges, duos, missions, or pvp

  9. cjstolte

This loadout is pretty close to mine. I use: Time bomb, distortion wave, tachyon blast, time shift, warped reality, and closed loop. Lots of AOE, no WM necessary, and actually limited weapon usage, along with roughly 85-90% power back, but don’t quote me on the power back, that’s a conservative estimate. Pushed my 108 to 112 with this loadout.

    1. cjstolte

…also leaves me with 6 pts for iconic powers, tactical, w.expert, wisdom of Solomon, intimidating gaze, miracle worker and empathic healing

    2. Ergotth

yes, I noticed this loadout based on time gives us plenty of points left for iconics, personaly, I’m glad I can pick superstrenght agin, its a guilty pleasure just being able to toss a whole truck at the enemies xD

Also, I use Timebomb, Distortion Wave, Tachion Blast, Warp Barrage, Time Vortex and Time Bubble if I get surrounded or need some quick protection.

  10. David

My leaguemates and I have found that the best loadout for quantum is to use only powers from the time tree. Start off with anomaly or any power that destabilizes, time bomb then clip 3 time powers for the best loop. Personally I use time shift, warp barrage, and tachyon blast. I use the supercharge from the space tree but some people aren’t bothering with a super charge. Hope this helps.

    1. Magic

Thank i really enjoyed your loadout i now start with anomaly clipped by warped reality followed by am that u have until warped comes of cool down then repeat from begining.

    2. Ergotth

I start with timebomb, use Distortion wave or Anomaly, and throw tachion Blast or Warp Barrage. as lv 23 I caused over 1000 dmg non crit and got almost all my power back.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Loco, with Time Bomb Advanced Mechanics there is no need for weapon attacks in Alerts or Raids. However, for Missions, Solo, and Duos you can choose One Handed or Dual Wield as your main weapon

    2. Ergotth

personaly, I reccomend starting with dual pistol and handblast until you have enoughs points for Weapon Mastery. Then, I reccomend youy stick with Dual Pistol with Handblast and Dual Wield weapon mastery unlocked, as much as the timebomb is slightly stronger when your close to the enemy, this still makes the quantum mechanics mostly range-based.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

We will start updating our Power Tree specializations viewer online, then our DCUO Planning Tree Specializations, and finally the guides. We will make this update as soon as we can :)

  11. Dargen

Really enjoy your build, Quantum 4Life!

I really like the idea of the sidekick, but quantum tunneling cam always be your life saver in tight spots, even when helping others get up during a big shield explosion/ whipe with picking people back up while Taking no dmg for 3sec.

Plus any idea what you might use for the upcoming changes to the Time section of quantum powers?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Dargen thanks for your comment, we havent been able to test GU44 yet. However, for what i heard quantum will deal great damage with the correct rotation.

Quantum Tunneling is also changing places in the Time tree so it is probably to be easy unlockable now. When GU44, check again this guide, we will update it as soon as we can :)

    2. Omega Creator

Hey I have a quantum DPS I just created yesterday that has brawling I just want to know if brawling is good for DPS I kinda don’t wanna switch to any other weapons because I love my character as is but I know that ranged would be better what do you think?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Omega, in my experienced Brawling can be a great weapon for leveling but when you start doing high combat rating content you will need to use a fast and strong weapon such as One Handed or Dual Wield.

The truth is that any weapon can be great if you become master at it. Brawling, One Handed, Dual Wield are great weapons for leveling but brawling dont have great range combos that support your damage at high combat rating

  12. Zyaon

What weapon do you recommended for range and melee wep combos? Been thinking one handed with duel wield or hand blaster with bow combo

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Zyaon, One Handed is the best for my personal opinion. However, dual wield is also great for melee and range while hand blaster is better at range.

    2. Ergotth

I reccomend handblast. The range combos have strong damage and knockdowns, the melee combos are quick, easy and also have chances or getting your enemies out of balance. Not to mention the tap+hold melee combo is AoE and push enemies away. It have brawling as weapon mastery combos in it’s two melee combos to add even more brutal damage.

  13. Raurus

Hi guys, great job here. I have a doubt: why do you recommend to use “Wisdom of Solomon”, when all it gives is power (troll’s job) and vitalization (only useful for trolls), and we are dps here?.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Raurus, Quantum DPS only needs 8 power points to deal great damage so the other 7 points we spend on the iconics tree. Wisdom of solomon grants you 100 power which can be very helpful when you do solo, duos, or missions without a controller by your side.

You can avoid using so much power points in the Iconic tree and unlock Quantum Tunneling or Time Bubble from the Time Tree. So you can use them in PVP instances

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Maxwell Smith, these tactical mods are the most recomended for Quantum DPS. You can see each Tactical MOD description in our guide http://dcuobloguide.com/guides/base-dispenser-mods/.

      * Blast Adapter: Weapon attacks have a chance to blast your target and five other nearby enemies for additional damage. This effect may only occur once every 60 seconds
      * Escalating might: Increases your Might by 151 for 8 seconds each time you hit an enemy with a harmful super power. This effect can stack up to three times. Does not work with Supercharge powers.
      * Weakening Field: Enemy players striking you have a chance to reduce their Control Resistance by 30% for 8 seconds
      * Deadly Block: Your Block Counter causes additional damage equal to 25% of your Precision
      * Penetrating Strikes: Your attacks ignore 528 Defense and 774 Toughness.
      * Max Damage: Instead of the normal listed damage bonus, using a super power while in Damage role always increases damage by 60% until the combo counter resets (at least five seconds)

  14. Sylvain

First , i have just discovered all your guides. Fantastic work.
Second, I would like to mention that there are 2 kinds of DPSing. One for alerts and raids, one for solos and duos where there are no troll to dump power. So i need a precision DPS. I heal and troll alerts and raids but i have no option but to DPS solos and duos. Therefor, i need a controller power that provides a good solo damage loadout against bosses and mobs of ads. I currently have a gadget troll. It is absolutely fine to troll but there are not enough words in the dictionary to help me explain to you how much i hate it as a DPS power. So i am currently looking to change my troll power to have a better solo DPS loadout without loosing my efficiency as a troll.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Sylvain, our guides try to provide neutral builds and loadout for all situations (mission, solo, duos, alert, and raids). However, to avoid having power consumption problems you should use your weapon more than your super powers. For example, with Quantum DPS i use warped reality and then just weapon mastery combos till the hit counter resets or i lose my damage increasement. Warped Reality will make some of my enemies levitate in place so i can kill them before they break the effect.

You can check our Gadget DPS guide to know more about DPS, and the great thing about Gadget is Battle Awareness which will let you recover most of your power. However, all the power consumption will be solved with using Weapon mastery combos more often.

One other thing, you should use armories to save your powerset. Using a DPS loadout with Controller statistics or viceversa will make you fail at both roles :(

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Boosting your Might and Precision that will depend on how much you use weapon attacks and superpower attacks. For Quantum, i prefer to use a mix between precision and might, to empower your weapon and superpower attacks :)

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello YourjustBEAST, we recommended robot sidekick in weapon mastery dps rotation because it does great dot damage and doesnt affect your rotation at all :)

  15. Quintin

Are you sure these are effective powers for large amounts of damage later today i will be getting origin crisis and i want the build that provides the most damage possible not to question you i just wasn’t sure about the stats.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Quintin, this is one way to make dps with weapon mastery mechanics. Quantum is a great Crowd Control power even in DPS :)

    2. Ergotth

as a quantum dps, all I have to say is GO FOR IT! This power just became one of the strongest dpss power, specialy if you folow this guide and get the ropes.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Richard, with 117 skill points you can already unlock the 3 weapon mastery i reccommend you use this build with weapon mastery rotation

  16. Ippan Zonbi

I’ve recently started on DCUO on console and have bought the Quantum power pack and am at level 13 do you have a build that can help me beat mobs and bosses fast or can help me to level up faster? Thank you.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Ippan Zonbi, the leveling time will depend only on your experience because level 1 to level 30 is like a tutorial for what is comming after your reach level 30. However, you should focus on getting Warped Reality, Gravity Bomb, and Oblivion . This powers will help you level up fast but dont depend on them use a good weapon to kill your enemies when you dont have power. We recommend One Handed, Dual Wield, or Brawling for leveling phase

    2. Ergotth

I reccomend you use timebomb, tachion burst and time shift as your first time-based skills, then just try to unlock more such as teleporting and tachion blast, just using timebomb+tachion burst+time shift gives some pretty cruel damage once the bomb explodes.

  17. ejay

hey i just switched to quantum from rage (got bored with it) n im having trouble outputting damage, im using one hand as recommended(comfortable with its WM) . any suggestions? also would neo venom be a good choice other than sidekick robot?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Ejay, i really dont like Neo Venom because it has a long cooldown and im sure Robot Sidekick will make more damage than the bonus Neo venom will increase on you. About your outputting damage, Rage deals more damage than Quantum because Rage is fully Precision based and Quantum is might baseD, so it is easy to deal heavy damage with Precision based powers.

However, i recommend you to practice your rotation and enjoy your quantum power. It has great crowd control that even in DPS is nice to have

  18. NecroneEUPS4

Hi! What do you prefer troll or dps on quantum? Cus i receantly got lvl 30 and i dont now witch role is the best since its my first quantum charater..

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Necrone, quantum are excellent trolls but for raising your Combat rating i recommend you to go DPS. It is better to raise CR with DPS role, once you get high cr then you can choose your favorite role. Personally, i like being DPS

  19. Arlakh

Hi, dcuobloguide! Awesome site. Gratz =D

I read many of your guides and noticed you guys use to recommend one-handed above all other weapons. I know it has a fast WM combo (solar flame mastery), like Staff, Dual Wield, etc., but Brawling is the weapon with the fastest WM combo (shuriken storm). My question is: you guys recommend one-handed’s solar flame mastery cuz you like it as a cool combo or is there some other stuff that brings it above brawiling’s shuriken mastery or the others hold>hold WM combos? Ty very much, guys.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Arlakh, every weapon is great when you get to know it and master every combo. We recommend One Handed because it is easy to manage and deals great damage to enemies. However, it doesnt mean other weapons are bad in fact brawling is great with shuriken mastery and brawling was my first weapon to like most but i just like having a sword in my hand hehe. I hope this answer your question and thanks for your comment :)

    2. Natsu Kurosaki

i would recomend using bow WM (full auto mastery) as you will deal a lot of damage in each shot of the bow combination with dual pistols.

  20. Jon

ok so i know yuo recomend mastery using dual wield and one handed since it is faster however i cannot help but notice when i use my hand blaster explosive bow master before i switched using your guide that i would do crits in access to 9k and with the one handed and dual wierd master i dont even come close to touching that number. so even though it is a faster master i am concerned that my damage still wont come close to those numbers.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Using fast Weapon Mastery combos will allow you to do more mastery combos and super-power burst than having slow weapon mastery combos. However, using longer weapon mastery combos will increase damage done by that final combo. So Having this explained, there is a balance in using slow, mid, and fast weapons. We recommend fast weapons because as a DPS you need to make the most damage you can in the less time you can.

  21. Rayjun

I love your build and rotation. Thank you for that, but I do have a question regarding weapons, I love the bows, I feel I do much better as a ranged strong weapon user, thus why I use bows, but I did read that you said the bow mastery skills are slow, but I just cant bring myself to use any other weapons right now, I have tried and I seem to do less damage than I do with bows…what are your thoughts on this?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rayjun thanks for your comment. We are glad to be helpful. Bow Mastery combos are slow comparing to recommended weapons such as One Handed or Dual Wield. However, you are used to Bow weapon and you will feel that it is more powerful that others and it can be but in the long term using many weapon mastery combos fast will inflict more damage

  22. Blackfist

I read your quantum controller guide and you suggested to raise CR by way of DPS. I want to be a controller so should I use the DPS load out but buy Controller armor or get DPS gear I don’t want to buy two sets of the same armor plus that would cost a lot of marks. Thanks

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

If you want to be a controller and level as a controller it is important for you to focus on the controller loadout. When leveling your combat rating is no need to buy all the set, you can MOD your equipment to raise your Combat rating fast without expending much marks buying tiers.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Hinata, when you are using weapon mastery loadouts, you will be using more weapon attacks than super-powers so having your Robot sidekick will complement your damage in the weapon mastery rotation. Robot is actually improved with the GU38 and it is doing pretty good damage

  23. Jon

I am looking at this for the first time and i enjoy it very much but with weapon mastery i cant help but wonder i know quantum is might based but would i need to use presions and might mods or should i continue using strctly might? i am CR 103 DPS Quantum

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jon, i prefer using precision mods over might because your high damage will come from your weapon attacks. Quantum is might based but with weapon mastery rotation you will use your weapon damage over super-power damage in more opportunities

    2. Jon

Alright and just to be sure i understand you 100%, even though i am might based, and given the rotation you have listed above which i have enjoyed using by the way, i should mod all my equipment with precision and precision/health and precision/power mods and no might correct?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yes Jon, if you use weapon mastery rotation it is wise to boost Precision over Might because you will deal more damage with your weapon mastery combos than your super-powers.

    4. Jon

Alright i will certainly do that then and one more question to bother you, i like quantum since i believe it is one of the best looking powers in the game but, but i do have other characters and other powers would it be safe to say that a power that is precision based such as rage would benefit and there be a lot stronger than say a quantum which is might based? (assuming they had a similar spread of skill points and equipment ext.)

    5. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Personally, i believe precision based are more powerful than might based because it is easier to focus 1 statistic than trying to find a balance between precision and might. Moreover, characters with super-power combos deal more damage than normal super-powers which need to be powered by the power interaction.

I personally boost my precision no matter what role it is. I try to use my weapon mastery combos to inflict most of my damage

  24. Drakhanis

Hey there I was just wondering about movements for quantum. I currently use flight but I do like super speed but which is better. I can’t decide. I’m a controller and do attack from a distance but I am torn as to which is more useful

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Drakhanis, i personaly prefer Fly over other movements. In some instance you need to skip enemies and it is really hard to do it if you have Acrobatics or Super-speed. Furthermore, flying can be put in autopilot so you can pointed in the right direction and go to grab some water :)

  25. Foolia

I have boost IV tactical mod now and I’m not sure which mod ensures effective dps. What is your recommendation? I use the same load out and rotation from the guide with one-handed’s solar flame mastery. Thanks in advance.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Foolia, we will soon make a Base guides where we will detail all dispenser MODS and recommendations for each power set.

    2. Foolia

Thanks for the reply. I’m looking forward to your Base guide.

I have another question: As a range DPS, I really like one handed’s solar flame mastery as it’s quick and powerful. However, I just don’t like my character holding any kind of weapon, so I’m thinking of switching to brawling and its shuriken storm/enhanced shuriken mastery as an alternative. What is your opinion on either mastery? Also, what other weapon mastery do you think is useful for range DPS?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Foolia, using Enhanced Shuriken Mastery from Brawling Mastery will be great for your DPS. Another recommended range weapon mastery combo is Mortar Mastery from Staff weapon

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hola Dedro, si utilizas Weapon Mastery es mas recomendable que le des prioridad a la precision para potenciar el daño realizado por tus armas. O la otra opcion seria potenciar precision y fuerza por igual

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello David, staff has excellent weapon mastery combos like Mortar Mastery (Range Hold x2). Bow has slow weapon mastery combos so i preffer Staff over Bow

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jackson, DCUO is trying to balance all power to make them similar in rotations and mechanics. However, i have the 3 powers and i am really enjoying Electricity. I love quantum for their Crowd Control and Rage for their survivality

    2. Jackson

You were definitely right. Quantum has amazing crowd control and im having a blast with it along with dual pistols. Everything is destroyed in seconds lol do you think dual pistols is a good choice for it? especially when it comes time for the weapon mastery?

  26. ron

Thanks for the updated load out. I’m curious as to why you have your load out the way you do. If anything I’ve removed oblivion due to the fact that it takes a while to build the super charge and weapon mastery combos do more damage anyway. I’ve kept tachyon blast with the enduring damage mod because it’s too hard for me to ignore the 60% damage bonus.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hi ron, using Oblivion can be very helpful in T6A, in a single alert i use Oblivion 6 times. Using Tachyon blast is an excellent variant but it only deals heavy damage when your target is lower than 35% health

  27. Foolia

Thank you for the new rotation. While the previous rotation is very good, it’s just not as good as when using Weapon Mastery.

  28. Nekros

I konw it’s not the best for the job but, How much is Martial Arts and Shield weapon mastery combos disadvantage compare to One handed, Dual Wield, Brawling?
PS. Im just want to know what’s the great things of both weapon Martial Arts and Shield and What worth to try them with Quantum DPS. THANKs for all helps :)

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Nekros, for DPS weapon mastery, Speed is the key so you need to choose the fastest weapon mastery combos available in your main weapon tree.
For example, One handed has 3 amazing weapon mastery combos:
      * Stunning Swipe Mastery (Melee Tap x1 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Dual Flurry Mastery (Melee Tap x2 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Solar Flame Mastery (Range Hold x2)

If you choose Martial Arts as your main weapon you should choose:
      * Loft Shot Mastery (Melee Tap x1 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Uppercut Mastery (Melee Tap x2 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Meteor Blast Mastery (Range Hold x4)

If you choose Shield as your main weapon you should choose:
      * Home Run Mastery (Melee Tap x1 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Lifting Strike Mastery (Melee Tap x2 + Melee Hold x2)
      * Magnum Round Mastery (Range Hold x4)

Comparing One Handed VS Martial Arts VS Shield, you will note that One handed has the fastest animations for melee DPS and the fastest combo in Range dps. In Alerts and Raids, you must use your range DPS so having a Range Hold x2 will make you deal more damage than others.

I hope this answer your question :)

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Tane, for quantum DPS you need to get weapons with the fastest and powerful weapon mastery combos. I recommend you to use One handed, Dual Wield, Brawling.

  29. Durzo Star

Excellent guide you have here! Would you happen to have a PvP guide to follow for Quantum?

    Much Thanks,

  30. Foolia

In pve raid, how important do you think Gravity Bomb is for Range DPS? I wonder if I could put Quantum Tunneling in place of Gravity Bomb, so that I would have both Quantum Tunneling and Tachyon Blast available. Would it be a bad idea?

Also, are the recommended weapons viable for pvp, mainly dueling? If not, what would you recommend? Either range or melee is fine, as long as it works well.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Foolia, you can use Quantum Tunneling instead of Gravity Bomb with no problem it is an excellent idea what you are proposing :) For PVP, i recommend One Handed, Brawling, and Martial Arts. We want to recommend players the most used weapons in game. Personally, I enjoy using One Handed for its Weapon Mastery Combos

  31. aces

great guide, i do have a few questions if u dont mind me,

does movement power really matter in dcuo for a range dps ?? would it be better to be in flight mode so people on the ground cant harass u too much?

also what does quantum tunneling does actually? understand its like a teleportation but it doesnt do any damg, so what good does it do besides like running away from an opponent?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Aces thanks for your comment. Movements dont matter for range DPS, in fact i prefer Flight over the other ones because it is the easyest way to travel and doesnt required your full attention to move your character. Quantum Tunneling is excellent for PVP. When you are controlled, it is very useful to escape your enemy killer attacks.

  32. ISworeShesLvl18

hello. i play the PC version. well im basically looking for a good dps guide for quantum i mainly troll but i have like a for t5 dps set in bank. i know with the new updates alot has changed was just reading all the posts would it be possible to like email me the new dps guide? if not its cool

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Iswore thanks for your comment. With GU36, Quantum didnt get changes, so we recommend this build for players. You just need to practice it and mix it with Weapon Mastery Combos

  33. Marcelo

Hi, any chance dual pistols work well with quantum for dps? I’ve been told to just not use them but damn they’re cool…… If not whats the best dps weapon?

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Marcelo thanks for your comment. Dual pistols really looks cool but it doesnt have good combos that help dealing damage, neither a good Weapon mastery combos that allows you to get the Weapon Mastery Critical Bonus easily. With weapon mastery you should focus on the best weapon with weapon mastery combos to access the 360% critical increasement.

For DPS weapon, One Handed is the best weapon which let you access to Weapon Mastery Bonus with Solar Flame Mastery by holding 2 times range.

  34. ron

What are your current thoughts of Quantum DPS with the latest game update? I feel like Quantum is a lot slower these days. Heck…some of the weapon mastery combos are doing damage on par with tachyon blast. Do you still recommend the same rotation of powers?

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hello Ron, thanks for your comment. We have recently updated all our Power Guides to GU36. Because of this big updated, most powers animations have been enlarged and others shortened.

Now we will start making Weapon Mastery Guides and when we finished them Power Guides will be updated with Weapon mastery rotations.

I recommend you to use your weapon mastery super combo to increase the super power’s chance to crit by 360% and its critical damage significantly. If you use it before a Tachyon Blast, Tachyon Blast will make heavy damage :)

    2. Ron

Thanks for the reply to my previous post. The cast time for tachyon blast has scared me away but I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for all of your work!

  35. Robinson Guerrero

So I’ve been reading the past comments so that I wouldn’t ask the same question.

So without a doubt having the Rifle is the best weapon for a quantum DPS? Which would be a close second?

  36. Dresdid

Question I’m running the build I enjoyed it for leveling but for current endgame I’m can of plataued. My cr is 101, I have 3417 might and 1221 precision. Using a bow ranged weapon. My rotation is clipping gravity well / warped reality and immediately into bow combo tap tap tap hold (all triangle) and repeat till cool down throw singularity and gravity bomb and repeat. So a couple questions
    1. For more bow dmg should I mod more precision since I’m using might based gear?
    2. Is there diminishing returns on might after a certain point? If so how much is to much?
    3. Any recomendations for improving rotation?

Thanks in advance for the help great guide.

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hello Dresdid, thanks for your comment. You are doing great with your rotation but you are missing the most powerful quantum power which is Tachyon Blast. In Raids or alerts, using Tachyon Blast in your rotation will mark the difference.

Talking about your stats, you should keep focusing on might. Your MODS and SKILLS must be focused on unlocking Might. The only precision you can get is from armor and skills (once you finished unlocking all the possible Might)

As a Quantum DPS, your damage will always come from your attacks and the main task for your weapon is increasing your hit counter faster for regenerating power. Bow is an excellent range weapon but Rifle increases the hit counter faster.

I havent heard about diminishing returns. In fact, when you are in raids you dont have any problem with power regeneration (controllers main job) so you can use your rotation with no inconvinience. I use this rotation: Gravity Well -> Warped Reality -> Singularity -> Tachyon Blast -> Tachyon Blast.

As I said, Tachyon Blast must be the source of your high damage. Hope this clear your questions and help you to improve your dps.

  37. Dark Vertigo

Thank you again for your advice on my previous post it has helped a lot! I was hoping I could ask a few more questions now that I am a bit further along.

    1. Is there a progression guide for where to run dailies, groups, or alerts that matches your current CR? I am at 63 and have been farming the tier 3 gear. The rewards for the tier 3 groups and alerts are fantastic but I don’t think I have the gear/dps to contribute as much as I should. Following the guide would be helpful to keep me in the right place.

    2. I am ranged and am using the rile that you recommended. I have tried the grenade spam, the forward roll/back flip combo, and mortar fire and can’t seem to maximize my dps. Do you have any advice on rotations to use?

    3. I only have 35 skill points and was told I should have a total near my CR. Is there a guide that shows strategies to get more skill points and where to place them?

    4. This is more of a general question but I would like to find a league to join. Other than spamming the trade channel is there a better place to find leagues that are recruiting?

I really appreciate all of your help!

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hi Dark Vertigo, glad to be helpful.

      1. Progression Guide CR 63 to CR 70
CR Raising Guide is an excellent idea and we will post it soon. It is a very complex guide because of declaring a path from leveling places, buying equipment, and modding gear. However, this request of yours will be answered soon. To reach CR 70 focus on:
      a) Completing The Chasm, Power Core, and Sunstone Matrix every week for Marks of Triumph, Weekly Reward, and Monthly Reward
      b) Doing easiest T3 Alerts daily for Marks of Triumph: Stryker’s Island Penitentiary, and League of Assasins Stronghold.
      c) Doing hardest T3 Alerts weekly for Weekly Reward: Coast City, Arkham Asylum, and South Gotham Courthouse.
      d) Doing T3 DUOS and T3 Challenge as much as you can.

Doing these T3 Content will grant you powerful gear and tons of Mark of triumph. Dont buy all T3 Set you just need to calculate your current gear with your necessary gear and MODS in the CR Calculator. When leveling my characters i almost never buy all Set to raise my Combat Rating, but i use synthetic MODS to benefit from mod item bonus.

      2. Ranged DPS and Rifle
As quantum DPS, your damage will come from your powers because your character is based on Might. Using Rifle as main weapon will help you to increase your hit counter fast and regenerate power fast. For this purpose, just spam HOLD MELEE and let the hit counter regenerate power for you.

      3. Skill Points
The only strategy to get more skill points is to do tons of feat. Personally, i use to make feats in this priority:
      a) Exploration feats
      b) Races feats
      c) Solo feats
      d) Collectible feats

      4. Finding a League
I know what you mean about finding a league. I have both factions character and finding a league is the hardest thing to do in DCUO. My only advice for this is to be aware of the popular Leagues, try to get invite and dont beg (some leagues likes to make people beg for an invitation). If you dislike the league just leave and find another league. You will soon find your dream league in DCUO

Hope this answer your questions, again thanks for trusting us :)

  38. Dark Vertigo

I have just turned 30 and am having difficulty keeping the power to complete any rotation without heavy weapon use. I am currently using hand blasters is there a better choice? Also could you post a solid rotation I could use in 2 and 4 mans vs raids? I really appreciate the help your guides have been super useful!

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hi Dark Vertigo thanks for writing us.

Using your powers and completing rotations will need a controller to keep you powered up, so it is normal you cant complete your rotation. When you are doing solo missions, challenges, duos or even alerts without controllers, you need to rationate your powers, use only necessary powers, and then attack with your main weapon.

Using your main weapon without being interrupted will increase the hit counter. The higher your hit counter is, the faster you regenerate power.

I recommend you to use: One Handed, Dual Wield, Rifle; these weapons are the fastest on increasing the hit counter.

When you dont have controllers use: Singularity (recommended) or Gravity Well clipped with Warped Reality and then Weapon attacks (for the hit counter) until Warped Reality is up.

What are you getting with this rotation:
      1. Clipping Singularity or Gravity Well with Warped Reality will activate Power interactions, deal more damage, and attack multiple targets at the same time.
      2. Activating Warped Reality will increases all damage by 40% until the hit counter resets.

If you have enough power you can use Singularity clipped Warped Reality and then Gravity Well (increases all damage by 50%), this is the most powerful melee rotation but it will consume almost all your power.

Hope this help you, if you have any other questions just post :)

  39. Wika

I love this guide, it’s perfect and even add’s Tunneling. This by far has became my favorite thing on dcuo.

  40. Jeremy Elliott

Finally I’m trying this build but I was wondering since you gave the option of gravity bomb over TB, would it work better to use the 3 points it takes to get TB on iconic skills? If so what skills are recommended

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

      Hi Jeremy,

If you dont want to unlock Tachyon Blast, you could expend them in the Iconic Tree, or some controller powers.

I would unlock Temporal Extortion and Event Horizon (Controller Powers), or Wisdom of Solomon, Intimidating Gaze, and Powerful Resistance (Iconic Powers ordered by importance).

Tachyon Blast is useless in melee DPS, PVP, or when you dont have a controller. However, it makes a lot of damage in range DPS and it is the most powerful Quantum attack

  41. David Preston

Love this spec just started got up to 24 in 5 hours.def the most damage by far im beating lvl 30s that join my 4 mans

  42. Luke

Hi just checked out this loadout. What rotation do you use and how do you clip? I’m cr 103 but never got the hang of clipping. I usually troll but since armories arrived I’ve created a back up dps loadout. Thanks for the guide.

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hi Luke, thanks for your comment. Here is the range rotation for Quantum DPS :
Gravity Well clipped with Warped Reality -> Singularity -> Tachyon Blast -> Tachyon Blast

If you have enough power you should be able to fulfill this rotation with no problems. However, if you are not power over time buffed, you can use Singularity clipped with Warped Reality.

  43. Wee

Hey im a dual weild type person…..Should i atleast swap out one power for a bubble since im an up close person and i need defense? And if so which one?

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hi Wee thanks for your comment. Most of the time DPS need to hit with melee for it dual wield makes melee AOE damage. I suggest to use your free Armory to imprint your loadout with one not spend power point, so you can unlock Time Bubble (gives protection) instead of Tachyon Blast (very helpfull at range) when you need it
