Rage DPS Rotation

  • MAIN ROTATION
  • Bloodlust [1]” (Increase Precision and critical strike chance for yourself and up to 3 group members)
    • Clipped with “Relentless Anger [2]” (Causes damage to enemies equal to a portion of your outgoing Rage Combo and Weapon Damage. Start Rage Crash mechanic)
  • Melee rotation: recommended for missions, challenges, or duos
    • “Outrage [3]” (Enemies suffering from Plasma Burn take extra damage. While performing this attack or combo, damage caused by Rage Crash is ignored, restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role)
      • [Hold Melee] (Rage Combo Extra Measure) activates, deals additional damage, and extends the duration of Savage State when hits the target
    • Revenge [4A]” (While performing this attack or combo, damage caused by Rage Crash is ignored, restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role)
      • [Hold Melee] (Rage Combo Revenge Spin) activates, deals additional damage, and extends the duration of Savage State when hits the target
  • Range rotationrecommended for alerts and raids
    • “Dreadful Blast [4]” (Enemies suffering from Plasma Burn take extra damage. While performing this attack or combo, damage caused by Rage Crash is ignored, restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role)
      • [Hold Range] (First Rage Combo Dreadful Explosion)
      • [Hold Range] (Second Rage Combo Dreadful Explosion) activates, deals additional damage, and extends the duration of Savage State when hits the target
  • “Plasma Retch [5]” (Inflicts Plasma Burn to enemies. While performing this attack, damage caused by Rage Crash is ignored. restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role) followed by Jump Cancellation (avoid Plasma Retch animation)
  • IMPORTANT VARIANTS
    • Until “Relentless Anger [2]” and “Bloodlust [1]” are enable, repeat Main Rotation without them
    • If you are low powered, use Main rotation without “Relentless Anger [2]” and “Bloodlust [1]
    • Replace “Dreadful Blast [4]” with “Revenge [4A]” for melee situations.
    • For melee situations, you should start with “Outrage [3]” then “Plasma Retch [5]” followed by Jump Cancellation
    • If you use “Plasma Retch [5]” after a Rage Combo, their power cost will be restored.
    • You dont need to use “Plasma Retch [5]” everytime you use a Rage Combo. “Plasma Retch [5]” damage over time lasts at least 2 rage combos. Use  “Plasma Retch [5]” when you see the damage over time is off

Rage DPS Tips

  • Using “Relentless Anger [2]”, and “Bloodlust [1]” together will ensure heavy damage and protection from incoming attacks. However, this clip is recommended when player is powered over time.
  • “Plasma Retch [5]” can be jump cancelled to stop its animation
  • “Relentless Anger [2]” will cause Rage Crash after 8 seconds. Activate “Outrage [3]”, Dreadful Blast [4]”, “Revenge [4A]” or “Plasma Retch [5]” and their Rage Combos immediately after the effect ends in order to prevent the Rage Crash Damage.
  • Mastering Rage Crash can make rage players unbeatable opponents.
  • Having your enemies inflicted with Plasma Burn will empower your “Dreadful Blast [4]”  and “Outrage [3]” damage
  • These abilities restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role
    • Outrage [3]
    • Dreadful Blast [4]
    • Revenge [4A]
    • Plasma Retch [5]
  • With GU58, Plasma Retch causes additional damage over time when applied while in a Savage state
  • With GU58, Dreadful Blast causes increased damage, with the most damage caused being caused within 13m of a target

do you have a full range loadout for rage? i know it might be weaker than melee but i would still like to know if theres a way to build a mid-range or full range loadout

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello AY, i am not sure there can be a full range loadout for rage because only Dreadfull Blast and Plasma Retch are viable for a strong DPS loadout. However, with 2017 revamp this may change so you will be able to use most of your superpowers and still have a good dps output

  2. Kennis

I am seriously considering switching to either this or light from quantum for my character. How does rage or light compare when put against quantum as a DPS power?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Kennis, for what i have heard Quantum deals greater damage than Light or Rage. However, if you still want to try those powers you should go for Light and boost your precision as much as you can

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Donald, you know a power is Precision based when most of your damage done is displayed with WHITE LETTERS while might based are displayed with YELLOW LETTERS.

Precision damage is done by weapon attacks, rage combos, UNLIMITED LIGHT CONSTRUCT COMBOS, and Celestial Combos.

    2. Donald Hotaling

Ok the power set light, celestial, rage, are precision based in the rest of the power sets are might?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Not necessary Donald, some powers like earth or sorcery can be mixed because you use might damage and precision damage while your pet is doing most of the damage

    4. Donald Hotaling

I am just concerned about the Earths power i found different reviews that its precision based and not might

    5. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Donald, for earth DPS, might will help your superpowers inflict more damage but while they are on cooldown you need to use weapon attacks which is why i consider earth more like a mix between might and Precision

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello 13th, Precision, Power, and Dominance MODS are recommended for Rage DPS & Tank

  3. Bayern

Hey i was just wondering which power is the strongest at the moment, i understand that you should play with what ever power you like and you will be powerful although it really bugs me as i cant decide what power to play with. People say mental is the strongest at the moment but im not a huge mental fan. I currently have a 143cr Quantum character, 80cr celestial, 80cr sorcery, 48cr rage, 47cr Atomic character and much more characters although i have not been able to continue playing because i am unsure what character to continue playing with. I enjoy playing as a dps and i usually top the leaderboards in most raids and alerts. Would you guys be able to just list the top 5 strongest powers in your opinion atleast.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Bayern, thanks for your question. For what we have heard in-game these are the strongest powers:
      * Earth
      * Sorcery
      * Ice / Mental
      * Munitions

Thanks for giving us a great idea for a future app displaying leaderboards 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Vertheros, you can use Eviscerating Chains instead of Revenge but it is considered a melee range movements because it drags 1 enemy towards you and the rage combo deals damage to all enemies in front of you

  4. Undertaker

Hi, Can you give any advice whether this loadout is good?

Bloodlust and Relentless Anger –> Plasma Retch (inflict plasma burn) –> Outrage, Eviscerating Chain, Revenge

Problem is I don’t know how to jump cancel. Do you just press jump a second after activating Plasma Retch? it seems to do less damage than seeing through the entire animation. Also, I find myself out of power quite frequently even after I spam those 3 abilities and their combos to restore power. Also, I fail to understand how berserk works. Plus I don’t like using supercharges.

I must say even though I like rage, it just doesn’t seem to do much damage compared to some others, regardless of what loadout I use. I sometimes find myself doing less damage than lower leveled players with powers such as earth, quantum, ice, gadgets, etc.

    Thanks.

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Undertaker, thanks for your question. For jump cancel you need to hit the jump key right after using Plasma Retch. Rage DPS comes from using Rage Combos so using Plasma Retch in the rotation is only needed to inflict plasma burn on your enemies.

When no controllers are by your side you should avoid using superpowers that doesn’t refund power such as Bloodlust or Relentless Anger.

At the moment, Rage seems to do not enough damage compared to powers like Ice, Earth, and Quantum because their AM is easier than Rage AM. However, all powers are great in their own way 🙂 Check this video to understand Jump Cancelling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOMLABU2TEs

    2. Undertaker

      Hello. Thanks for the reply!

I’ve tried the loadout in your suggested video and in your guide. I did find it to be more useful for ranged damage but it still doesn’t do much damage. I try my best to spam every single ability yet its hard to do enough damage and I seem to die fairly quickly. I was doing a Duo with a level 71 ice DPS and me being a 77 CR, he almost matched my damage (like 5k less damage than me) and seemed to clear the mobs fairly quicker than I do? He has to spam less than me.

Plus I still can’t do jump cancelling on Plasma Retch, it just doesn’t do the entire damage and effect on it and its cooldown resets entirely. Am I doing it right?

Finally, how is the loadout in this guide in pvp? I meant its easy to block Outrage and Dreadful Blast. So I start by Relentless Anger and Bloodlust –> Plasma Retch (for one second then Jump cancel or just press X if you’re flying?) –>Spam Outrage and Dreadful blast until Plasma Retch effect is gone–> Repeat with plasma retch and the 2 combo powers. So I gotta use Plasma Retch twice in my rotation, correct?

Thank you for the help. I really appreciated!

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Undertaker, jump cancelling Plasma Retch makes the animation and damage to stop, it supposes to work like that, but as i mentioned before Plasma Retch is only for applying Plasma Burn effect which increases your rage combos damage.

Ice AM is far easier than Rage AM which is why Ice players can deal damage more easily than your Rage Character that requires to continuously use rage combos on enemies.

Our Guides show Builds and Loadouts for PVE Instances. It is hard to promote PVP guides because blocking, interrupting, and using weapon combos more than your superpowers will make you win the match. In PVP instances, you cant use full rotation so you must use your superpowers only if necessary.

    4. Undertaker

Can you give me the recommended rage pvp loadout in your opinion? Also, is there a website that shows us the base damage of every ability? I know that certain effects may apply which makes certain abilities do more damage. But I’m just curious if there is a way to tell how much base damage each ability does with 0% critical chance. If there isn’t do you know which of the rage combo abilities do most damage? they all seem to do equal damage.
      Cheers

    5. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Undertaker, personally i used this same loadout for PVP which is why knowing how to block, interrupt, and using abilities at the best time is what makes you win PVP matches.

About base damage, there isn’t a website that provides that kind of information. But you can check http://www.dcuolog.com/ if you want to have statistics about your superpowers

  5. KingRipper

quick question why the precision mods in generator instead of might ? is it incase u run low on power and have to use weapon? i useally am able to keep my power maxed and constantly chain my combos every so often i get alot of adds with knockdown and it interupts my chain and i run out of power but i use cola and get back on track useally. just curious thats all. love the build by the way melee rotation is amazing

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello KingRipper, thanks for your question. You must know Rage is a precision based power so boosting your precision stats will increase your rage combos damage and weapon attacks. Boosting your might is useless because it only represents 10% overall damage. However, if you want to take care of running low your power, you should boost power statistics.

    2. KingRipper

thanks for the response im actually fairly new so im still getting use to everything where does it show that the skills are precision or might based? iv been trying to see where the identifiers are. read might is skills damage and precision is weapons damage

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello KingRipper, you can tell if your character damage is based on Might when your damage amount is displayed with yellow numbers while white numbers are used when your power is precision based. Try using a weapon attack, you will see white numbers coming out your enemy. Then try using a superpower (this will display yellow numbers) and right after its rage combo (white numbers will be displayed). If you are using Dreadful Blast you will see the first hit to display yellow number but its both rage combos will display white numbers

  6. Skolopendragon

    Hello Guys,
Rage is my favorite power and so I really love it. I always make my own Loadout, but also look to the loadouts of other players. But there is one problem I noticed. Yesterday I realized, that Revenge doesn´t do any extra damage to Enemies, who suffer from Plasma Burn. That really drove me crazy, because I think that Revenge is the second strongest melee attack in rage, but without that extra damage, it turns out a little bit weak. So now I would like to know, if I am maybe wrong, but when not, it would be very nice, when you correct the explanation of the loadout.

This part should be corrected :
Revenge [4A]” (Enemies suffering from Plasma Burn take extra damage. […]

    Sincerely, Skolopendragon

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Thanks Skolopendragon for pointing this out. It is true Revenge doesnt deal extra damage with Plasma Burn but it Causes increased damage while in a Savage state so using it with Outrage is still a great melee damage rotation 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yes you can. However, you may need to save only 12 power points in your armory so you are able to use outrage and galling eruption with the same build but unlocking powers according to your needs

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Tehddy, thanks for your question. Servere punishment is meant for tanking because it gives you +10% Control Resistance and +10% Health. Relentless Anger is great for melee DPS because it causes damage to enemies equal to a portion of your outgoing Rage Combo and weapon damage

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rageaholic, thanks for your question. We made some test about using Galling Eruption and Plasma Retch, we realized that using Plasma Retch, constantly in the rage DPS loadout, heavily increases its damage specially with latest updates that allows Plasma Retch to cause additional damage over time when applied while in a Savage state.

Some players prefer Galling Eruption so they dont have to refresh Plasma Retch effect every two or three rage combos but it definitely deals more damage over time than Galling Eruption

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Nate S, we are currently testing different loadouts so we can update this guide as soon as possible

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Ken, it is probably this build may be different with GU58. We are currently testing the best loadout for all situations 🙂

  7. Kane Sullivan

  8. Wallachia

Hi there! First of all, thank you kindly for your tips. I have studied extensively both tank and DPS loadouts, and I’m fresh new to the game (since January), so I’d like to ask you some questions, if that’s not a problem:

1 – DPS or Tank? I mean, when it comes to playstyle my current loadout is way more fitting, and as a melee DPS I’m not only independent but I don’t really need a tank to keep aggro for me. it’s very rare that I have trouble in a group instance to pass a specific boss, and when I have usually the group’s tank needs me alive to deal damage to the boss before he falls.

2 – My current loadout as a DPS melee is Word of Power, Revenge, Eviscerating Chain, Outrage, Relentless Anger and Remorseless Recovery. Thanks to this build I can attack frantically without stop when I enter rage mode without ever crashing (unless someone holds me during my entire time in rage mode). This makes me survive for as much as I have power to spare, so I used Word of Power to regenerate power and increase that. Should I replace Word of Power for Vacuum Bubble?

I know this build might sound odd, since I see a lot of people saying Revenge is decent but not stellar, but I saw it deals the same damage as Eviscerate combo, and the second hit is AoE without dividing the damage. Adding that with my technique of multi-targetting (engage as much enemies there are in the room and constantly change targets mid-combo to deal damage to everyone and avoid block counter if I aim on someone else to deal the blocker aoe damage), so far only people with at least 20 CR points higher than me deal more damage output than me in instances. At 67 CR I went to Brainiac Sub Construct Raid and dominated it, having twice more damage than everyone else together, and their CR was roughly the same as mine (There were 2 players with 10 more CR, but I don’t know their powersets), even other Rage DPS’ers.

3 – I don’t like using Plasma Retch nor Galling Eruption, since I do area combat and the area I cover with my infinite combo (I never run out of power if I don’t have to enter rage mode) is wider than that. Do you know or have a graph or info that shows the practical difference in damage from plasma attacks with and without the debuff provided by both attacks?

    Cheers~

Hello Wallachia, thanks for your question and support. I will answer your questions the same way you asked:

      1. Choosing your alternate role (tank for rage) is great when you are facing raids or alerts at the TOP CR (at the moment CR 155). I personally recommend players to increase its Combat rating in DPS role because it let you be more independent and as a rage character you are virtually inmortal if you manage to avoid rage crash.

      2. Our builds are meant to be great for all situations including melee and range which is why revenge is not considered stellar for many rage characters because it is only good for melee range and PVP. However, you have learnt the most important thing about DCUO which is trying your power and change superpowers depending the situation. It is hard for us to list all possibles loadout for each situation which is why we provide a neutral loadout that may or may not be changed according to the player experience.

      3. Plasma Retch and Galling Eruption will be great for higher CR Alerts and raids where you shouldn’t be near your character and you wont be able to infinite rage combo your enemies. Even with rage mode, high CR Bosses are able to one shot you before even letting your character heal with rage mode. There are pages such as http://www.dcuolog.com/ that let you compare your rotations but we dont provide statistics about it because we would never end of explaining each power rotation.

DCUO is a very simple game with infinite loadouts and rotation which will let you be and look as anything you want, that is what i love the most about it 🙂

  9. bassie

im a rage dps cr 146 but my damage is always a lot less than than similar level dps 1have 115skill point
im following your recomended load out do you think im not doing enough damage base on my skill point level

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Bassie, thanks for your comment. Rage range loadout doesnt deal great damage compared with other DPS powers. Maybe with new updates this may change in the future 🙁

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Kane, thanks for your comment. Mangle or Berserk are great for Rage DPS. However, mangle will deal aoe damage when it is used correctly and Berserk will deal heavy damage to nearby enemies but this is recommended for experienced Rage Players.

Nevertheless, both supercharge are not good for raids or alerts because both of them are only useful to deal damage on nearby enemies.

  10. Whatarethoseeee

So how has rage been doing lately? I’ve always loved going melee with it but I’ve heard it’s not that good right now.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Whatarethosee, thanks for your question. Rage DPS is not good enough as other powers at the moment. Maybe with future Game Update, DCUO will improve Rage and other powers

  11. Secriv

So for alerts it recommends the range rage damage loadout but you say somewhere In your responses here that the range version does not do higher damage then it’s melee loadout. Is the range one sacrificing some damage but better chance to not die due to not having to be so close to the enemy? I can’t tell which one to pick for generally every run ins. Ones safer but less damage while the other is risky but higher damage. I’m a 53CR if that helps with helping which to stick with.

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

For some alerts you can stay near the boss without diying. However, for raids you must use range loadout because bosses can one shot you if you are too close. By using relentless anger and avoiding rage crash you can practically be close to your enemies all the time in challenges, duos, alerts, and low cr raid.

DCUO Devs are currently improving some powers. Celestial was improved in GU53 and Fire, Quantum, and Gadgets are next in GU54. Maybe in the future, rage will be picked to be improved 🙂

  12. kundo

Hi bro, i have a gadgets lvl 28 have a great damage ( thx for u guide) but my friends and me nees a tabk for pvp my question is what power is better for pvp (gadgets or rage) my friend and nemesis is HL and i want win in duela xD plz help me buy rage or i keep gadgets thx 🙂

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Kundo, i suggest you keep on gadgets until you know more about the game. Reaching level 30 means ending the tutorial. The hardest part of DCUO is to raise your combat rating and PVP combat rating. Rage is a great power for PVP because it has great advanced mechanics to deal heavy damage in short time. Gadget is great too but both powers need you to master their superpowers, blocking, interrupting, and weapon attacks

    2. kundo

Hdhhello friend, thanks for your answer, what happens is that we realize that we need a tank and heal, dps and controller but nobody wants to take the roll tank, I do not dislike and that’s why I want to create one According to all tanks are good if you know how to use but I want besides a tank, to make pvp and most of all gain power face in duels (1VS 1) called me ma rage attention, but not that be better for these two points if rage or earth, as the two I like, thanks and greetings

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Kundo, for the moment Ice and Rage are considered great tanks. I prefer Ice over Rage because its Advanced Mechanics is great at range situations. You must know that you can get Armories so you can be tank and DPS with your character. Read more about armories here http://dcuobloguide.com/guides/armories/

Soon Atomic power will be released and it is also a tank power. We still dont know how it is as a tank but it seems great. You can see atomic superpowers here http://dcuobloguide.com/traits/powers/atomic/

  13. Kane Sullivan

Hello, I would like to start with thanking you and/or your team for making these builds they’re extremely considerate and helpful all the same. I would like to ask since doing a weapon mastery requires 20 Skill Points to be used should I spec into dominance or power if I already completed health, crit chance, and precision?

    Reply
  14. Dion

I mistakenly focused on might while using my rage dps, I have respec him to be more precision based, better damage but not as it should be, as T7 dps what should my precision and might be around on average?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Dion, rage dps is precision based. However, its range damage is not that good as other powers. Rage dps is a beast when melee dps. It is hard to tell how much precision or might you should have because it will all depend on your skill points and your allies SP too. Remember that having high combat rating will increase the damage you deal to enemies

  15. Mike

Hello, i am new to Rage and just finished the 0-30 grind and now up to a CR of 62 and i am noticing that i die super fast and easy, and im not sure why that is. I have a CR 130 Celestial Healer that i remember never died so fast and easy, and neither did my CR 103 Quantum Dps when i was leveling him up. So i guess my question is, did some thing change in the game to make it harder on lower levels or am i just bad?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Mike, the only thing that changed for Rage is its AM damage. However, its melee damage is the one doing greater damage than Range so staying near your enemies will make you kill them faster but if you dont master how to avoid Rage Crash (which is activated with Relentless Anger) all damage received in 8 seconds will come back at once. Using Relentless Anger correctly will make you never die. However, if you got one shooted by a boss special attack you will die anyway 🙁

Remember Stat flattening makes you stronger when your cr is higher than your enemies. However, you may need be more careful when you are fighting against high cr enemies

  16. Dion

My question is since Gailing Eruption can be might or precision based, which would you suggest to make it for max damage?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Dion, Galling Eruption will be great if you use it with precision based but your real damage comes from Rage Combos and using Galling Eruption with precision based may delay you a bit.

  17. David

For the ranged loadout, what’s the point of having galling eruption and plasmid wretch? Do they not do the same thing?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Using both superpowers add 2 additionals Damage Over Time to your enemies. That is why having them in the loadout is highly recommended. However, you can replace Galling Eruption if you want

If you consider he is cheating you can report it to DCUO devs but i dont think using unlimited combos is wrong. In fact, that is the better way to deal damage as Light dps

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Well Light has it easier because its AM is based on using UNLIMITED CONSTRUCT COMBOS. Light doesnt have power refund because by using UNLIMITED COMBOS they dont need to use any power but it will be great if DCUO add power refund to light because at pvp it is hard to only use Combos without Weapon attacks

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Justaproblem, rage AM can be stopped if you block or interrupt their combos in the exact moment. Remember that rage AM needs that rage combos be performed one after another. If you interrupt their combos they wont get benefit from AM and will lose a lot of Power until they cant performed any more rage combos

  18. MatWalker

I have always had this problem with rage, rendering the power unusable because for me. I can’t do any rage combo except eviscerating chain. And the random, unintentional outrage, but it is once a month. Anyway, I have tried every timing possible but it is simply impossible. Any light on my problem?

hey here’s my loadout. Bloodlust, dreadful blast, outrage, e chain, relentless anger, and berserk. i ask do you think i need to use the pi system does it affect savage state. and can you provide any tips for melee-ing end game content

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Having Bloodlust and Plasma Retch is the most recommended loadout but for melee using Bloodlust is not that great as having Plasma Retch to inflict damage with Power interaction and Savage State

    2. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello kobe, for meleeing endgame using outrage and eviscerating chain is enough to deal great damage but you may need to have Plasma Rech or Galling Eruption to inflict Plasma Burn on your enemies and get benefited from power interaction. Having your Power Interaction mixed with Savage State will help you deal greater damage than only using Savage State that is why Plasma Retch is really helpful at DPS

  20. Skolopendragon

So my Rage DPS Loadout is a little bit different, but I find it works very well.

    Loadout:
    1. Outrage
    2. Eviscerating Chain
    3. Galling Eruption
    4. Bloodlust
    5. Relentless Anger
    6. Remorseless Recovery

    Main Rotation:
    Galling Eruption(3)—> Bloodlust(4)—> Relentless Anger(5)—> Outrage(1)—> Eviscerating Chain(2)
—–Reapeat (1)—>(2) till you can use (3),(4),(5)—–
    Explanation:
Galling Eruption inflicts your Enemy with Plasma Burn. Bloodlust increases your whole attack. Relentless Anger saves you from the most damage/heals you. Outrage and Eviscerating Chain make very much Damage, because the Plasma Burn inflicted Enemies get more Damage (Galling Eruption), and higher Precision Bloodlust) and they avoid “Rage Crash” (Relentless Anger) with their “Rage Combos”.

BUT WHY WE NEED REMORSELESS RECOVERY ?!?!? —> Here is the Answer

I play very often PVP and even tough I use Relentless Anger, I get killed from somebody better than me, even tough I use Relentless Anger. Remorseless Recovery is very useful for beginners or players, who have not (good) PVP-Gear. And it is very nice to use with my Loadout.
You can use Remorseless Recovery after you used Galling Eruptions(3) or Bloodlust(4) or Relentless Recovery(5). It depends to the situation you are, but I prefer to use it after Relentless Recovery(5). Remorseless Recovery heals you of a part of the damage you did.

Explanation: When you activate Galling Eruption(3) your Enemy/Enemies will get “Damage over Time”. So then you must use Remorseless Recovery(6) and begin with to attack with Outrage(1) and Eviscerating Chain(2). Now you will get a huge amount health, BECAUSE Galling Eruption will do permanent damage and your Rage Combos will make more damage AND you will get that damage back as health. This is very effective.

So that was my Rage DPS. Of course you can switch the 6. power, but I feel very comfortable with it in my Loadout. I am very new DCUO and more new in Rage (3-5 Days), what means, that I will become very happy, when you share your DCUO and Rage experience with me and give me suggestions for improvement.

i tested with a savage based loadout, here it is
    1.Gailing Eruption 2. Outrage 3.EvPLisirating Chains 4. Revenge 5.Plasma Retch 6. Dreadful blast

To start off lunge in with revenge and then revenge spin

    Rotation:Gailing Eruption clipped with outrage>
(Plasma Retch (Jump Cancelation)>Dreadful blast combo) untill Gailing Eruption is back up and then repeat
Maybe a more mid range one: Replace Dreadful Blast with Outrage or Evisirating Chains
Once enemy is below 35% health replace Dreadful Blast or Outrage/Evisirating Chains with Evisirating Chains.

i found that doing 1 2 revenge then plasma retch gives you back the power of 1 2 and revenge is this true and personly rage is better than light which is better in a dps view rage or light ( should be called will)

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Potatoman, plasma retch extends and gives power back when in Savage State. I personally consider rage a great DPS for melee but at range it should be improved its damage. Light is great at Melee and Range but both DPS are balanced in my opinion 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Savage state is activated when you perform a rage combo it doesn’t last long so for having savage state prolonged you must perform rage combos constantly.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

That is a great choice potatoman. However, if you are in melee situations using Outrage and Revenge is enough to inflict heavy damage and activate Rage AM

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Potatoman, Relentless Anger is part of the loadout that dont change at all. Having Relentless Anger allows you to survive longer as DPS but you should use any rage combo to avoid rage crash

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

I personally use One Handed with this build. However, Brawling can be great also 🙂

  23. Rage Senpia

What do you think of the loadout:

    Galling Eruption
    Bloodlust
    Relentless Anger
    Dreadful Blast
    Outrage
    Robot Sidekick

I think this loadout seems just as beneficial as yours, as well as, one doesn’t need to keep 2 skill points open in their armory.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Eviscerating Chaing + Outrage are great for Melee Damage. Maybe robot sidekick is more useful for Range Damage

    2. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rage, it is a great variation. Most players prefer Plasma Retch to deal additional Might damage over time. However, our guides show the most recommended superpowers for any power roles, players with their experience may change it if they consider theirs better

    3. Rage Senpia

That makes sense. I’ll try out both loadouts and see what works out better for me. Thanks very much! 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jonas, thanks for your question. For Rage, These abilities restore Power when performed immediately after damaging an enemy with a Rage Combo in Damage Role:
      * Eviscerating Chain (its combo will activate Savage State)
      * Galling Eruption (using this will refresh Savage State)
      * Outrage (its combo will activate Savage State)
      * Dreadful Blast (its 2 combo will activate Savage State)
      * Plasma Retch (using this will refresh Savage State)

For example, everytime you hit an enemy with any of your rage combos you will activate Savage State (lasts 2 seconds aproximately). So if you use one of the powers above you will refund its power cost and with their rage combos Savage State will be enabled again.

In other words, the only way to refund power as Rage is that you use one power and its combos after another. If you are interrupt or use your weapon attacks Savage State will be gone and you will need to hit an enemy with any rage combo to reactivate it.

Hope this answer your question, let us know how it worked for you 🙂

great site thank you for the great job that you guys have done, I use one handed in my dps made my build equal to the site should purchase weapon mastery or not? You have no videos on the dps build the rage?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jonas thanks for your words. You should get weapon mastery because Rage AM Refund power only works if you constantly use one power after another power and for some situations you will be low powered and weapon attacks will be needed.

We havent been able to provide videos of our builds and loadouts, but it is an idea we would consider in the future 🙂

  25. Al Zander

Hello what weapon would you recommend for a dps? My powers are Rage,Light,Electricity and I am stuck between Brawling,Dual Wield and One Handed. Only thing about Brawling is that it is so slow but the weapon mastery combo is fast. I cant decide and I really need someones suggestion, and if you can suggest weapons for the specific powers I listed I would really appreciate it, Thank You, your guides are the best!

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Al Zander thanks for your question. In my experience, one handed is a balanced weapon because it has fast combos and weapon mastery combos. Dual Wield has fast combos and slow weapon mastery combos. Brawling has slow combos and just 1 range fast weapon mastery combos.

It is said that using Brawling: Shuriken Storm Mastery allows rage characters to use weapon mastery combos before any rage combos without losing the savage state (this is the only combo that can achieved that) so players can benefit from weapon mastery crit bonus and savage state damage.

Personally, i use One Handed on my characters because as i said before it is the most balanced weapon i have used. I use it for DPS, Tanking, Healing, and PVP. One Handed: Solar Flame Mastery is a fast combo that allows you to get benefit from weapon crit bonus and One Handed normal combos deals fast damage and hit multiple players 🙂

Dual Wield is great for normal combos but for weapon mastery combos i consider it too slow. For PVP, Dual Wield can be a great weapon to beat your opponents.

      I recommend you to try
      * Rage with Brawling (try to master weapon mastery crit bonus with savage state)
      * Light with One Handed or Brawling (with experience you wont need weapon combos at all so you can pick any weapon for Light)
      * Electricity with One Handed (its AM will make you be low powered so having a balanced weapon will help you a lot)

Hope this answer your questions 🙂

  26. Rageaholic

Hello, I seem to be having a lot of trouble with keeping power. The am doesnt seem to be working or maybe im not really using it correctly. My rotation is Galling Eruption cliped with bloodlust and then clipped with relentless anger and then alternate between outrage and EC along with thier rage combos. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rageaholic, you must remember that your will get power recovery from other powers after you hit a target with a rage combo. If you start with Galling Eruption and Bloodlust both will consume power. But if you start with Outrage (cost power) then use Galling Eruption (power recovery) thats the correct use of Rage AM. Another good use for melee rage is. Outrage (cost power) + Combo – Evescirating Chain (recover power) + Combo – Plasma Retch (recover power) + jump cancel – Outrage (recover power) + Combo – Evescirating Chain (recover power) + Combo …..

      • Outrage [1]
      • Dreadful Blast [4]
      • Plasma Retch [5]

Hello Unique, Rage Advanced Mechanics is considered one of the best melee DPS but at RANGE DPS is still low comparing to other Power’s Advanced Mechanics such as Quantum, Mental, or others.

This guide offers you a good loadout for melee and range situations but with recent updates having a high combat rating will make you deal more damage to enemies so focus on getting the highest tier possible.

For skill points, it is recommended that you use them in this way:
      * Recommended Movement skills
      * Main Weapon Mastery
      * Cross-Weapons Mastery
      * Finally, unlock weapon trees that grants you the highest amount of your main statistic (precision for rage).

Hope this answer your questions 🙂

  30. RedDevil

Hi I just started using this website and so far it is awesome but I have a couple questions I was hopping you could answer. I am a rage dps 120 cr ATM and 80 sp and the range load out is what I’ve been using usually even before I saw this but after I do plasma retch I do brawling weapon mastery brawling is not my favorite but I use it because I was told it was good for this load out not the damage but I guess it’s the fastest to give me the combo bonus while still in savage state is that true? Or even if it is should I continue to use it, also it seems to do very low damage. Another thing is I have the rotation mastered but I always seem to be doing low dps I mean some of my gear is moded but even though I’m 120 cr with good gear everyone else always does more damage what am I doing wrong? Or what do I mainly need to be doing good dps? What is the main key to rage dps. Thank you and have a nice day.

    1. RedDevil

Or my bad i use brawling to go into martial arts weapon mastery (shuriken storm)

    2. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello RedDevil thanks for your question. We have heard that Brawling: Shuriken Storm Mastery is the only combo that allow you to use weapon mastery combo in rage rotation without letting savage state to go off. However, we dont put it or recommend it in this guide because this makes player choose a weapon that maybe wont be agree to use or may be harder to manage the rotation timing.

Rage is considered as a great melee / mid-range dps but for RANGE dps its damage is still lower than other powers. I really enjoy being rage and use one-handed as my main weapon. The point is that with latest updates your damage will significantly improved if your combat rating is higher than others, but experience and statistis are still important to mark a difference with same CR allies

  31. A Secret

How should i prioritize my skill point tree? Do I go into WM?Our just add according to the aforementioned stats priority? im sitting at 110sp.

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Secret, it is recommended that you use skill points in this order:
      1. Unlock weapon mastery and cross weapon masteries
      2. Start unlocking some critical attack chance from other weapons trees that also give you precision such as Staff, Rifle, One Handed.
      3. Then get weapon mastery skill points from the previous trees

You will need at least 130 points to have this done, after that find another weapon tree that give you precision and unlocked full weapon mastery and continue with another

  32. eddie

So I am a little confused on the melee rotation for this build, do I just use outrage and dread blast over and over again? Or am I suppose to use the other skills?where does plasma retch, mangle, and the two buffs fall into play?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Eddie, we will update this guide with a better melee rotation. For now, i recommend you to use “Outrage [1]” – “Eviscerating Chain [2]” so you will be able to get benefit from rage combos AM faster than if you use Dreadful Blast for melee.

The full and fast rotation for melee rage dps (the one i use) is: “Outrage + Rage Combo” – “Plasma Retch + jump cancelling” – “Eviscerating Chain + Rage Combo” – “Outrage + Rage Combo” – “Eviscerating Chain + Rage Combo”.

You should use “Plasma Retch” again when you see that Plasma Burn needs to be refreshed. This way will provide constant power recovery from superpowers unless your enemies block your rage combos so you will need to start over

  33. KFury

I had a question I was hoping someone could answer. I am having issues with the power restore effect that is supposed to take place when doing rage combos. Example: I started with outrage into dreadful blast and if I didn’t wait for a brief pause once the toon is mid air with outrage, I would lose the power refresh from dreadful blast. After the initial combo gets started the refresh seems to work a bit faster. Against the sparring dummies if I was clipping super fast, I could still get the damage out, but for the power refresh I had to wait a little further into the animations. This was a little frustrating because it sort of hammers down some of your dps. Is this normal? I watched videos of rotations and people are clipping rage incredibly fast. Is the PC version just capable of this and the PS4 needs extra time or you lose some effects???

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Kfury, in order to get power restore effect from rage combos you must let rage combos interaction to be completed. You can get the damage out but power restore needs the animation to conclude. With this AM, your rage combos deals great damage so you dont need weapon mastery combos in the rotation, just use your rage combos and let them finish 🙂

    2. drewwspike32

Would the robot side kick be helpful with the melee loadout? (Outrage, plasma retch, echain) or would that mess up the dots?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Not at all Dreww, you can use Robot Sidekick instead of Mangle supercharge if you like

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Rage is considered a full precision based because most of its damage comes from rage combos which are precision based. About using your skill points, it is recommended to start with Movements skills, then Main Weapon mastery, and then Cross Weapon Mastery, once you unlocked these then you can unlock from different weapon tree statistics according to your role

If you need some help you can check our weapon mastery guides where how to spend your skill points is listed http://dcuobloguide.com/traits/weapons/

  35. Tech Ninja

First of all I just want to say, I love your website! It’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve got a question though and I wonder if you guys can help me,

I’m currently a HL DPS and have been looking into the Rage DPS powerset, it looks freakin awesome. However with the whole AM update and everything, how do HL and Rage compare…what’s your opinion, and is it worth switching over? Thank you!

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Tech Ninja, thanks for your comment and your support 🙂 Hard Light advantage is that you just need 1 superpower to start the whole CONSTRUCT COMBOS ADVANCED MECHANICS so if you are an experienced player, being without power wont be an issue. Rage advantage is SAVAGE STATE ADVANCED MECHANICS is the fastest in game for the moment. While in HL you need to use your construct combos for more than 4 seconds to deal great damage, in Rage you just need to do 1 rage combo and you are already in Savage State and almost all important powers for your rotation restore power in savage state.

I personally have a Rage dps/tank as my main villain and i think it is awesome at melee distance and acceptable at Range distance. On the other hand, i think in Range DPS, Light Advanced Mechanic deals more damage than Rage (of course this will depend on your rotation, equipment, skill points, and other aspects).

In my opinion both are great in their own way but i like Rage better because with avoiding Rage Crash im almost inmortal

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello TheGame, we recommend that go full precision because rage combos will be the ones dealing great damage (more than 25k) and that damage is precision based. We understand that unlocking some might will increase Dreadful Blast and Galling eruption damage but your rage combos will do more heavy damage

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Lightrage, some people prefer a constant damage over time rather than activating their own superpowers. Drones deals great damage but using their superpowers all together with a great rotation deals highest damage. Plus in T6 Content, you must recast that drone constantly because adds kill it

  36. Drake

Seeing as though the range is might DoT and 1 combo, wouldn’t might and prec mix be better than full prec?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

That is a personal choice. Some players prefer to enhance their rage combos with full precision or go mixed as you say by boosting might and precision at the same time.

Hello Skelehawk, i havent tested both powers in a versus situation. However, i think DCUO has accomplished a good balance for Rage that now can deal as much damage as other DCUO powers

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Drake, i still consider rage powers could need an additional range combo. For the moment, rage superpowers are oriented to deal great, fast, and heavy damage at melee situations but for range situations you just have might damage over time and 1 range rage combo

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

For Rage, supercharge can be choose between Mangle or Berserk, you must choose what suits you better. Some players prefer Mangle because it is certain that it will inflict damage on nearby enemies but if you prefer Berserk its your choice 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Makareno, in savage state, rage superpowers Might based and rage combo Precision based get increased damage. However, rage combo which is precision based are the one that deal greater damage so boosting precision is the most recommended option

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

It is recommended that your boost your precision for Rage because most of the damage will be dealt by your rage combos

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

No Malik, Rage will be the same as always has been it just received a new Savage State which will increase its damage and recover power when performing multiple rage combos.

  38. JDxCrit

Rage is not getting a revamp, it is only getting Advanced Mechanics to increase damage and restore power

    2. JDxCrit

Ok now will rage be able to keep up to quantum?range i mean cuz ofcourse i will never even try melee, if i dont want to keep getting killed or getting kick out of a raid.

  39. SidDrage

I agree with berserk being useless now. Anyone who says that they can still use berserk have not tested it. you have to get in the same range as mangle to have any effect from berserk. So I tried a few loadouts and here is what works for me:- galling eruption, bloodlust, Plasma wretch, Dreadful Blast, Relentless Anger and Infuriate. Some of you might even question why I use infuriate since they believe it to be useless. Well I have actually been putting up numbers using infuriate. You need to use galling eruption clipped with bloodlust and then infuriate, then WM followed by dreadful blast. Check out the crit damage for yourself. You’ll see that it does way more damage this way. Also relentless anger is more useful than remorseless recovery since you get healed even when you are down. In t6 content you’ll find yourself off your feet more often and remorseless recovery only works when you hit not when you go down. Just voicing my opinion on what might work for more rage players who are saddened by the fact that they cant put numbers on the board like before.

Hello Chris, for what i saw in a Tweet weeks ago, there is no plan yet for adding advanced mechanics to RAGE. However, i aggre with the idea that Rage really needs a AM or damage increasement at least

  40. the perminator

i’m still not certain on what you meant by berzerk being useless in raids? it deals back damage to your target and neighbors so if you are in a raid, anything you are hitting and near it getting splash damage will also get damage again. Mangle would make you move closer to the mob or boss which is risky. I understand relentless anger as a way to stay alive but you can rage crash with it. If you aren’t close enough to the ads you don’t even get the extra might damage. You may as well use severe punishment if you want a better heal. Personally in solo content run remorseless recovery which heals you based on damage from your attacks and combos without a crash. I find if you use violence, and combo that as well as using galling eruption and combo that you are getting healed from the combo prec DOT while also attacking. Plus if you have only enough power left for one power cast, remoreseless recovery is a better power to use because it only heals you. If i was getting close to death then and had very little power I’d run a higher risk of raage crash the other way. That’s just my opinion. I love rage and it’s a great tank and dps power, but for greater damage and running content with 2 healers or a good solo healer, the heal back power iisn’t necessary and is a waste of an extra DOT.

I have a question about the update. Was there something done to berzker that is is not the main super charge anymore? I’ve also noticed that if i am not close to the ad, relentless anger only heals me but doesn’t leave the might tick on the enemies. I tried the suggested rotation but ended up going back to my old rotation of galling eruption, bloodlust, robot sidekick, dreadful blast, plasma wretch, and berzerkSC. My damage output was much higher. I think depending on the distance, you can lose out on damage from relentless anger. although when it hits, it hits a handful of ads where as the robot sidekick only hits one ad at a time but when power is out, the sidekick is still at it. not sure if this is the most efficient use of a powerpoint and loadout.

Hello The Perminator, Berserk is great for DPS however its limitation on range make it useless for Raids, that is why Mangle can be more helpful in range situation than Berserk. You are right about Relentless Anger and it is a good idea replacing it with Robot Sidekick but Relentless Anger can be very helpful when you need to survive missions, solo, duos.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and loadout, im sure this will be very helpful for players 🙂

    Hi love the guide,
I just got back into dcuo after 3 years away and thought I’d try rage, I was just wondering if you have an alternative for robot sidekick. I don’t like the look of it.

    Thanks

pets with any power if you can get them in there are a good idea, robot sidekick for most cuz most dont have pets, it add a dot that does about 30,000 for a 45min run, I know cuz I ran some test with a friend and we would tie (Giver or take) and i took it off to try better and i lost by about 30k to him every time

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Banks, i personally prefer One Handed for DPS both weapons are great and have similar combo. Flight is the most useful movement for your Character because it will allow you to skip enemies, travel faster, and stay out of danger when you AFK

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Leonidas, dual wield is a type of weapons that deals damage with 1 weapon per Hand. Two hand weapons mean that you will use ONE BIG WEAPON that needs your 2 hands to use it

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Skimming is the same thing that Fliying, the only thing that changes is the animations. They both have the same races and skill points

    1. Roktis

Okay and when do you think the new update comes online for rage.
I want to start a new character :D:D I do not want use the skills wrong 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello DonnyLove, it is recommended that your skill points always be higher than your combat rating. Most players at high content have more than 100 skill points. The highest skill points at the moment is over 200.

  45. Imthesandman

Would there be anything you would change to this guide after the recent updates? If so, what? Also, what stats would be most important to boost as rage dps for the base generator mods? ie – what do you suggest placing in the generator: health or power, what what type of support, and offense. Please advise. Thank you.

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Imthesandman, for the moment Rage havent had any changes in their superpowers that is why no changes have been made so far. However, we will find a new build and loadout that improve rage damage. In generator, i recommend you to get Precision (to increase your damage), health (to increase your survival), and dominance (increase superpower effects). These GENERATOR MODS will also help you if you have armory with TANK role 🙂

  46. Sacropheus

Hey, I am using almost the exact same build you have shown here. Only difference is that I am using Hand Blaster. My rotation is slightly different, but only because I try to keep the DoTs from Plasma Wretch going nonstop.

So my issue I am having is, is that I am watching Hard Light players who are three or more CR ratings lower than me, have 1 million or more damage at the end of an Alert. Then, just today, I seen a Rage Ranged DPS guy, come in a Raid and out DPS me by a little over a million and he was exactly 3 CR ratings lower than me.

I scratch my head, wondering what I am doing wrong…or even wonder if there is a new build out there that is dominating my build. Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

I’m a bit frustrated at this point, watching other players dominate my DPS like this, especially when they have a lower CR rating. I have 100 SP, I have all the crit chances unlocked, I use currently all Synthetic Mods, but I go for Precision. My current CR on my Rage is CR 107.

Anyway, thanks for the help if you can provide any insight.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Sacropheus, there are tons of reasons why players with lower CR can deal more DPS than you do. Most of the reasons are linked with:

      • More skill points than you
      • They are using SODA BOOST to increase their PRECISION and MIGHT
      • Better weapon than you but lower equipment that reflects in the combat rating tooltip
      • Better equipment but no MODS in it
      • They are getting group’s buff and you dont.

What you point here out has happened to mee too. Thats why i always check their stats and equipment in the CENSUS APP to find out what is really happening. Also the combat rating display in the tooltip is not the highest combat rating the have, it only shows the combat rating of the equipped items

  47. Christian

Hello I have been an Ice tank and DPS for a while now and I want to go back to Rage. How should I mod my DPS might or precision and what is a good loadout and what weapon for WM. I’m a cr111 173sp

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Christian, you should focus on precision to empower your weapon attacks and rage combos. This is a great loadout however you can replace Robot Sidekick to have both Outrage and Dreadful Blast in your loadout. Dreadful Blast is the superpower which will deals more damage to your enemies but your enemies needs to be Plasma burning.

One Handed, Dual Wield are great weapons for DPS which allows you to use fast and strong weapon mastery combos

  48. Tarfeon

Hi, others players was saying to me that I should be using a precision & might mod in my red socket. But here you say to use in red socket only precision mod. What is better for rage DPS?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Tarfeon, some players recommend might in Rage for empowering the superpower damage after a successfull weapon mastery critical bonus attack. However, in my experience using precision will empower your weapon attacks and rage combos so there is no need for might unless you just want to empower that particular attack after weapon mastery crit bonus

  49. Mvp

Hey im a rage dps and i just wanted to know what is better ferocity or relentless anger and why. Try to maximize dmg

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello MVP, Relentless anger and Ferocity have 2 different porpuses.

Relentless anger is great for survival by healing back all damage taken for 8 seconds (after which you suffer from Rage Crash) and also your enemies received additional damage when you use combos or weapon.

Ferocity only increase your Precision and gain resistance against control effects for a short time which effect is not as good as Bloodlust that increases Precision and critical strike chance for yourself and up to 3 group members.

Also unlocking Ferocity requires some power points in useless superpowers for DPS

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Ace, Rage DPS hasnt suffer any changes with the last game updates for what i heard in GU45 Celestial and Range will get revamped, i really hope it is true 🙂

  50. Windsoar

hello i recently made a Rage Character and i am planing on going DPS and Choose One Handed for weapon and planing on using this build displayed on the web page but i have a Question which tree Should be started on First Punishment or Rage?? i know it might be a silly Question but i was honestly Curious

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Windsoar, you should start with the Anger tree to get Relentless Anger and start mastering ragecrash. When you understand how to avoid ragecrash damage you will be virtually unkillable

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Alan, in PVP combat you depends on your weapon experienced rather than your superpowers. That is why is hard for us to make PVP guides. However, a nice tip is to have in your loadout crowd control superpowers to get your enemies stuns, rooted, fear, knocked down.

  51. Green Lantern

    Hi,
So with GU43 coming out I test on test servers alot and I think I found the perfect dps loudout (requires decent amount of power) and this is an opinion but try 1.Relentless Anger 2. Bloodlust 3.dreadful blast 4. Galling eruption 5.Infuriate and 6.Ferocity. just a thought 🙂

    2. Chris

Will rage have an awesome mechanic like hardlight? Because as of now it’s very under powered. Powers like hardlight, gadgets, ice, electricity and mental all can easily out dps rage without any effort because they don’t need power to do damage.

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

For what i have heard maybe in GU45, Celestial and Rage will also be revamped with Advanced Mechanics. Im anxiously waiting for it hehe

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jake, i personally use One Handed. However, choosing a weapon is about what you like most. One Handed and Dual wield are my favorite because are great for melee and range situations.

  52. ShadowOps

Having a blast with this loadout <3
I barely use Beserk so i was wondering if you have any abilities than can be used instead ?
I noticed you said above that we can use Ferocity instead of Outrage and Relentless Anger for more precision, what would the loadout look like then ?

    Thx :3

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello ShadowOps, you can use Mangle instead of Berserk, it is a pity that rage doesnt have range supercharge powers but mangle deals great damage to nearby enemies 🙂

Some players prefer ferocity instead of Relentless Anger. However, it is pretty hard to unlock it without letting out some useful superpowers such as Outrage, also Relentless Anger make your Rage DPS survive longer than any other dps

  53. ShadowOps

Hi ShadowOps, you can replace robot sidekick and have both Outrage and Dreadful Blast in your loadout which is really helpful when you need an additional power to mitigate ragecrash damage

  54. ShadowOps

    Nice guide as always :3
Iam worried about this ” Rage Crash” thing being a big draw back, can you pls explain what it is really ? I went searching around a bit and it seems this thing heals you first and then damages you later, oh and i saw that this ability called “Vindictive” prevents it is this true ?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Shadow, mastering how to prevent the rage crash will be very helpful and make you virtually inmortal if you have the enough power to handle and prevent it. Relentless Anger heal back all damage taken for 8 seconds, after which you suffer from Rage Crash causing all healed damage to instantly return. Rage Crash damage can be ignored While performing Outrage, Dreadful Blast, or Plasma Retch (including their combos).

In other words, you activate Relentless Anger then all damage taken will be healed for 8 seconds, at the seventh second you must perform Outrage, Dreadful Blast, or Plasma Retch so rage crash damage can be ignored. When you master the timing of rage crash you will be unstoppable

Hello I’m currently struggling with my rage dps I need help I’m going to try justatank’s load out (thanks for sharing that with us) but what about skill points ? I have 156 how many wm should I have so I can get the extra pre and might ? Thanks and I can’t wait to try this out . I’ve been trying to figure the dps out . I have successfully figure out the tanking but I just want to improve with my dps . Thanks

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Zer0 Mk, thanks for supporting us. With 156 sp, you can have at least 6 weapon mastery unlocked. Try to unlock the ones which gives you additional Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage so your weapon mastery crit bonus will hit harder your enemies. You can see in http://dcuobloguide.com/traits/weapons/ every weapon mastery guide has a section for “Unlocking points for Roles” this can help you a lot to unlock skill points in weapon trees. However, you should choose what weapons will you unlock though

    2. Keith

With 156 SP first get all your weapon crit stats. WM is second as crits provide higher damage than static stat boost. I am behind you in SP with all my toons and do good damage due to how I set up my toons damage loadout. I do have to say this is one power that needs an updated AM as it is a power hog compared to even HL prior to its update.

  57. Alan

hi , I’m from Brazil and I love your site . Congratulations. You could make me one doubt ?
because the Anger Relentless rather than the ferocity?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Alan thanks for your comment, We recommend Relentless Anger because unlocking Ferocity will require to much power points to have it the same thing happends with Galling Eruption

To unlock, Galling Eruption, Outrage, and Ferocity you need to spend 10 Points in Anger leaving only 5 points free. Weapons Expert and Tactical Genius iconic skills are always recommended to have as a DPS so it let you 3 points to spend in Punishment tree which does not allow you to get Dreadful Blast which is the range superpower most powerful in Rage

Galling Eruption and Ferocity are great superpowers but having them requires you to focus on One tree and not in both of them

  58. Volsmaster

Hi, apologies if you have answered this question before, but, I can’t found it. Looking the Loadout for DPS rage, in # 7, you are putting Robot Sidekick. I dont know how use # 7 instead of consumables. Can you please help me. Other thing that I noted is your Robot Sidekick Icon is not red. Thanks in advance,

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Volsmaster, the loadout only have 6 slots, when we put two superpowers vertically align we try to tell players to choose one of them depending on the situation. In this case, Outrage for melee situations and Dreadful Blast for range situations. However, if you want to have them both you can kick Robot Sidekick out

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Of course, Rage for being precision based allows you to hit harder your enemies and Relentless Anger will let you survive a little longer, of course you will need to master the timing of rage crash

  59. Phoenix Vi

So i have a rage dps and my loadout is bloodlust-galling eruption-plasma retch-dreadful blast-robot sidekick-berserk and i use a shield as my weapon anyadvice on a good loadout for range rage dps?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Phoenix VI, you already have a good loadout for melee and range dps. In fact, the most powerful range dps for Rage comes from Plasma Retch, Dreadful Blast (and its combos) so you just need to improve your skill points if you feel you are lacking of DPS.

Your weapon can also be a problem because using shield does not allow you a fast range weapon mastery combos, for that task i recommend you One Handed: Solar Flame Mastery, Dual Wield: Explosive Shot Mastery, or any other weapon that gives you a weapon mastery combos with 2 or 3 clicks

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jordan, rage has not suffer any change in their powers so it doesnt need any update at all. You can continue doing great damage with this loadout.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Yeap DonnyLove, rage hasnt suffer heavy changes in their super powers so this build and loadout can be still used

I strive to be the BEST and No. 1 at everything I do and that also includes video games. I want to be the very best Dps there is.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Rage is a great dps and i would choose it as an option. However, every power has its own mechanics to be a great dps for example gadgets, electricity, light, nature, sorcery, and others. I personally use electricity and rage because their animations and survival. Choosing a power and being high dps will depend on your skill points, rotation, equipment, sodas (if you use them), and experience

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Iam, we are still testing the best builds and loadout. However, im pretty sure rage will not need a different loadout for now

  62. Rubeth

Oh thanks a lot 😀 and what about berserk, where will i use it in combos, or even in a combat?
Btw, i am handblaster, which WM should i go, bow or brawling?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rubeth, Berserk causes all damage you deal to be dealt again to nearby enemies for a short time. This is great when you are surrounded by enemies and doing melee attacks and you need to kill them fast. Berserk is a great burst power so use it when you need to inflict max damage.

You must unlock both masteries. However, if you dont have enough skill points you need to evaluate your current situation. If you are doing more melee damage then you should focus on brawling first, but if you need to do strong range damage then unlock Arrow Fling Mastery in the Bow tree

  63. Rubeth

Hi, a newbie here. You said relentless anger clips with bloodlust, which one will i use first? First relentless anger or bloodlust?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hi Rubeth, you should use Relentless Anger and then Bloodlust to have their cooldowns match 🙂

  64. Just Some Tank

First of all I should say I have the utmost respect for everyone involved in this site. They do an amazing job and I am in no way disagreeing with anything they have said. A lot of these things are largely down to personal preference. However rage is by far my favourite power and the one I am best with so I would like to add my input to this guide.
In my opinion when building a character you should always spec for group content and trust the rest of the group to do their jobs well. This means DPS should never take any tank/heal/troll powers or skill points. Bearing that in mind my Rage DPS loadout/rotation is as follows:

1.) Bloodlust clipped with Ferocity (This guide reccomends Relentless Anger which I see as more of a tank power. Ferocity increases precision. A lot. Enough said)

2.) Plasma Retch – jump cancel (Inflicts plasma burn and is a decent DoT so best to pop at the start of a rotation)

3.) Dual Wield – Bow WM [Exosive Shot Mastery] (By far the best WM in the game. Hits hard, fast, and easy)

    4.) Dreadful Blast – Hold Melee x2 (Bang… Bang… BABOOM)

5.) Pop Plasma Retch as soon as you let go of the third projectile from Dreadful Blast and repeat steps 2 – 4

6.) Bloodlust will now be off cooldown. Ferocity will not. Pop Bloodlust and repeat the whole thing again by which time they will both be ready to clip into eachother again (step 1)

7.) Watch things fall over and feel like you’ve earned that banana bread you’ve been craving

    8.) Eat banana bread

Hello JustSomeTank, thank you so much for this comment, personally this is my favorite post that i have read. I also want to thank your loadout/rotation to improve this guide, im sure this will help others in their game 🙂

    2. Just Some Tank

After re-reading my post I realise there’s some things I should add.

1.) Dreadful Blast rage combo is “Hold Range x2” not “Hold Melee x2”. My bad.

2.) My power points build is the same as the one pictured above except I have gone down the left side of the Anger tree (instead of down the middle) to get Ferocity. Other than that it’s identical.

3.) The loadout I describe in my previous post leaves 2 slots unused/unexplained. I use Berserk in one and Robot Sidekick in the other.

4.) I use Bererk mainly in boss fights but feel free to just pop it whenever you like.

5.) When doing solo content I swap out Robot Sidekick for Wisdom of Solomon. The extra power helps a lot.

OK that’s it! Sorry for the long posts and thanks for reading 🙂

  65. SoQas

Question so for under mods it says might and precision. Which mods for each color would be best for melee damage? Also which would be best for power damage?

Hello SoQas, Might will boost your super-power damage while Precision boost your weapon attackas and your rage combos. Rage is mainly Precision based so you should focus on it over any other stats

ok my loadout goes bloodlust, dreadful blast, outrage, plasma retch, robot sidekick, and berserk is this good or should i change this?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Quintin, your loadout is great for Rage DPS. However, you can improve your damage if you alternate Outrage (melee) and Dreadful Blast (range) depending on the situation and add Relentless Anger in place to Cause damage to enemies equal to a portion of your outgoing Rage Combo and weapon damage. Heal back all damage taken for 8 seconds

    2. Quintin

Hi my loadout has changed since my previous comment i actually saw just some tanks loadout and set mine up like his it works great for dps but i want something that is fun to use don’t get me wrong its cool to just kill everything but i want to do that with more diverse powers with like range and melee so i tried a few things but they didn’t quite work for me maybe you can help so i tried to get the powers in this order bloodlust, galling eruption, outrage, dreadfull blast, something else for the 5th slot, and berserk but i’m not sure if that set up is good for dps n how i should do the rotation. (maybe for the 5th slot i could get the robot sidekick rage crash seems to fuck me over so i don’t really want to get it)

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Quintin, we have recently adviced that Ferocity is great for DPS and it improved your damage output so instead of Relentless Anger you can get that in the 5th slot. Your main rotation can be:
Galling Eruption clipped with Bloodlust > Ferocity (if you want to get it) > WM Combo > Dreadful Blast (range) / Outrage (melee). However, i consider plasma retch better than galling eruption because it does faster DOT

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Lessur, staff is a great weapon and of course you can use it with Rage but the additional precision will be get it with high amount of skill points. The most importatn thing is to unlocked the 3 weapon mastery before anything 🙂

  67. dosty

Hello. plz help, i kno this is not about rage but what power do you think is fast with weapon mastery and deals good damage? thnx

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Dosty, in my opinion Rage deals great damage but it is not fast with weapon mastery because it deals great damage with the combos. Electricity Burst loadout has a flexible way to use weapon mastery and it deals great damage (this is my main power right now). Right now, there are multiple mechanics in game for DPS and it is difficult to answer your question because you have unlimited ways to make great damage now with or without weapon mastery

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

As DPS you need fast and powerful melee weapon, i personally like to jump into the fight so i use and recommend One Handed or Dual wield 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jordan, Outrage is a great choice for melee damage. Gallin Eruption is fine but if you have plasma retch. I suggest to focus on plasma than galling

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hi Jordan, Rage is full precision and maybe some players use might because they want to boost their super-power burst but that is unnecesary because most if rage damage is done by precision attacks

  68. Black Wulf

    Hello ^_^

I have a question, but first I just gotta say that I appreciate your site, and how it explains things to the rookie player just starting out, or the exchange of ideas with the veteran pros that have been playing since game drop. In short, please keep up with the good work. Now my question, if I wanted to take the two healing out iconics, instead of the robot, what other power could I also leave out?

I recommend you to unlock Empathic Healing instead of Robot sidekick because it increases +3% Critical Healing Chance. However, you shouldnt bother on unlocking heal iconics because you wont be healing yourself 🙂

Does it happen with all other combo powers?

    3. DCUO Bloguide Post author

I really cant answer that because i am PC player 🙁 i dont know much about playing PS3 but it must be the same and you just need to wait for animations and time your combos hehe

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Practicing a lot, hearing the animation’s sound. Try to count to 8 everytime you activate Bloodlust and then use Outrage or other super-power that avoid rage crash. It is hard to master but when you do it you will be almost unbeateable 🙂

Hello Texas, check this powerset with no Robot Sidekick http://dcuobloguide.com/apps/planning/rage/?powerset=1408017645. Galling Eruption is better than Violence but it requires more skill points to unlock it, so you wont be able to Weapons Expert or Tactical Genius from iconic tree.

Having Robot Sidekick replaced means that you should activate Violence to deal additional damage. I prefer robot because it deals good damage and let me concentrate in my Weapon mastery rotation 🙂

I have a question, I saw your tier guide, and I have an ice tank with a cr rating of 102 still mostly tier 4 n 5 gear and I am able to do tier6 raids. My question is am I at the correct cr for my character. I skipped armors t5 in the meta wing, the gear in Gotham wastelands. And I went straight to The gear in Mogo command center and relentless anger gear. Please tell me I’m ok because if not I might have to delete my character

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello TexasGAmer, you can skip t5 armors and dont even buy all tier sets to raise your Cr. However, having t4 and t5 mixed will make t6 raids and alert a little more difficult until you get t6 drop. Dont delete your character you are doing great, i assume you mod your equipment to be cr 102 and thst is exactly what everyone does to raise the cr without buying a whole set.

Hey had a look through the comments and couldn’t spot an answer. Can you recommend a weapon for me?
I’ve only been playing properly for about a month so i’m still feeling kinda noobish. I’m CR103 and was using dual pistols and getting decent DPS out of all that AOE. Trouble is i’m now trying to master WM and the pistol combo’s take FOREVER. I’ve been trying Hand blasters/bow and that seems quicker.

This has become more rambly than i meant it to…

Basically I like pistols but i don’t think they’re good end game. Can you recommend something to replace them?

Hello Mike, One Handed is my favorite weapon for doing great mastery damage. However, Dual Wield is also great 🙂

Im sorry, I know you used to post along with these guides, but what weapon class do you advise with rage? Im going to make a duplicate on the other faction and my rifle Rage has been giving me mixed results

  74. DK

Hey, don’t you think eviscerating chain is better than outrage for melee purposes? It will do bonus dmg on 35% hp mobs and it does more total dmg, even without the bonus on 35% hp mobs. The only difference is the aoe radius, its smaller. But i think it would be good to: WM->eviscerating chain (hold melee), clip with dreadful blast, hold range, hold range… etc. Don’t ya think?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello DK, Eviscerating Chain is a great variety for Outrage. However, Outrage deals multiple damage and if you are far from your enemies it will jump over them and deal melee damage. Eviscerating combo will only be helpful if your target comes to you (will depend on your dominance) or if you are close to your targets.

  75. Aimee

I love all your guides, they are so helpful. I created a rage dps recently, & my powers don’t seem to be clipping no matter what I do. Is it something that was fixed in an update, or possibly the platform I use? I play on a ps4.

    Hi,
I pretty much have the same loadout as the one you are mentionning. However, by personal choice I dont like the robot sidekick so I decided to go with Violence instead.
My question is … is that a good choice to replace the sidekick robot? or I should use Galling eruption instead?
Also, any tips on how to boost my DPS apart from just using precision trinket?

    Thanks!

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Adriano, Robot Sidekick is a good choice to unlock because adding another Super-power in your rotation will decrease your weapon mastery combos and your super-power burst. However, if you like to replace Robot you should use Galling Eruption in the Super-powers opener phase.

To boost your DPS, you can use Equipment MODS. You can get Synthetic MODS V Expert from PVP vendor when you get PVP CR 88. Hope this answer help you 🙂

  77. Rygasonaryan

Interesting, I will give it a try. I was using both on the T6 missions regularly by Outraging into Dreadful Blast. It helped me to not ever catch a crash, but in places that I have to range, I would replace Outrage with Robot Sidekick. I am going to try and eliminate one or the other and use Robot Sidekick, I didn’t know it did really good damage.

I have a question, I have been using both Dreadful Blast and Outrage instead of using the Robot Sidekick. I do Retch, then my Weapon Mastery (which is Dual Weild into Brawling, three swipe then the uppercut) into outrage into Dreadful Blast into Retch again and repeat.

What I want to find out is if I am losing out on alot of DPS by not using the Sidekick?

    Reply
    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Rygasonaryan, depending on the situation, Outrage or Dreadful Blast wont be used because interrupts or range preferences. Robot sidekick deals great damage that not using it for having a super-power that possibly wont be used is a waste of super-power slot. If you are in a raid you wont be using Outrage frequently. On the other hand, in solo missions or duos it is possibly hard to use Dreadful Blast because enemies can interrupt you. So why not letting the robot sidekick help you with some damage if you need it?

I hope this answer your question 🙂

    2. Austin

Hello JDxCrit, as Rage DPS going full Precision is highly recommended. With GU37, Weapon mastery rotations and builds have changed DPS mechanics, your weapon deals much more damage than your super-powers so boosting your DPS statistics will be a great to deal heavy damage 🙂

Going Precision & Might will empower your weapon attacks and your super-power burst, using a super-power inmediately after a weapon mastery combo will grant you weapon mastery crit bonus of 360% you can read our Weapon Mastery Explained to know more

Hi, I’m melee dps, I use Martial Arts with Loft Shot Dual Pistols weapon mastery. My loadout: Galling Eruption, Relentless Anger, Bloodlust, Berserk, Outrage, Violence. I’d clip the first 3, then use Violence, then rotate Outrage with WM. The thing is, I’m not sure when to use Berserk, and I was thinking of switching it with Mangle, and use that when I dont have any power.

Then I hit outrage melee combo quickly followed up by dreadful blast range combo which I repeat until the plasma burn wears off. Then redo the process. 84. Nick harris

I have a 104 rage dps sp 90 I having problems trying to keep up with my my league members on damage out they be killing it I use one handed weapon mastery ive tried different loadouts but I still fall short compared to like sorcery or electricity if u can I would appreciate some advice thanks

Hello Nick Harris, thanks for your question. Your problem will probably be in your skill points or your gear. Having tons of skill points and multiple weapon mastery unlocks will grant you amazing stats which help players to inflict more damage. Additionaly, being 104, 105, or 106 Combat rating create a big difference in your DPS try to get T6 Weapon first before any other equipment.

I hope this help you 🙂

  85. Steven Tisdol

Also I’ve noticed you use galling eruption for ranged and plasma retch for melee. Why is this if plasma goes further than galling? Wouldn’t you use galling for melee instead? Also I tried using violence and galling eruption as a precision based move and it seems that the damage is higher if I leave it as might based. I don’t know why but my might is like 3400 and my precision is 2300. I have all but 7 Tier 6 pieces ( mask, shoulders, hands, waist, belt, legs and utility belt). the pieces that aren’t t6 are CR 91 item level and modded with Precision 5 expert. So I don’t understand why my might is so high and I cant’ used moves under precision based instead of might. Please help at your earliest convenience

    Relentless anger+bloodlust clipped>
    Galling eruption>
    1h wm (hold range , hold range)>

I have used this loadout and added a little flair of my own to make it work. So first off, I’d like to say THANK YOU GUYS OR GUY OR GAL OR GALS OR AWESOME PEOPLE for making these guides. Second, I have a question about the skill points. I was told that i should focus on ONE weapon mastery then use the remaining points to get ALL the crits first. But in doing that my precision goes from 2300 down to 1900. Is it really worth losing those points to have all the crits or should I stay where I am and continue to get my skill points up to get the crits? I feel as though I do more damage with the higher precision. BUt I could be wrong. I use rage powers so I’m looking to do a lot of damage. What is you opinion on this? Also do you have a guide on the new pvp system? I’m not quite understanding the changes and why I can run it a million times a day. That being said do you have a good loaudout for rage pvp? I used this and have done pretty well but I only have the basic pvp gear.

For pvp, mastering Relentless anger and avoiding rage crash will make you an immortal player im pvp. I hope this answer help and thanks again for your comment 🙂

Hello UltraGirl, thanks for your comment. I have been experienced the same problem that you have but my conclusion is that T6 instance are overpower now because is the first T6 that has came out. Remember how it was with T5, doing Origin Crisis with T5 was really hard to do but when Sons of Trigon and War of the Light: Part 1 came out and you got Tier 5.5 or Tier 5.75, those Origin Crisis instances were the easiest one to do.

I have a quantum DPS with precision, dominance, and power boost, the only thing that keep me alive is the Crowd Control that quantum super-powers have. I hit my targets while they are in the air controlled.

Rage is an excellent DPS power, considered one of the most powerful powers in game. So if you want to change it, i think it is a great choice 🙂

Hello Manny, Outrage is very powerful and fast superpower for melee DPS and you can combine it with galling eruption to deal Damage over Time too. However, using Dreadful Blast is recommended to use instead of Outrage when you really need to do range damage like in Themyscira Divided, Nexus of Reality, Paradox Wave, and other difficult raids or alerts.

Hope this answer your question, thanks you for your comment 🙂

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jordan, making melee damage will always be more powerful and faster than doing range damage. However, in some situation you it is safety to do only range damage or you will die one shooted, for example: Themyscira Divided, Paradox, Nexus, and most raids.

    1. DCUO Bloguide Post author

Hello Jordan, both DPS Powers are great but i prefer Rage over Celestial because of its Rage combos and Healing damage received (avoiding rage crash of course). Celestial makes me feel that i am dancing instead of DPSing, but it is considered one of the most powerful DPS in game 🙂

Well Rage if you are talking about doing PVP with PVE gear in a duel with another T6 Hero then it is normal to die one shotted. Almost every time that people do PVP with PVE gear they fall fast because they dont have Toughness in their armor.

However, if you are talking about doing T6 Alerts or Duos and that you are falling way faster. I suggest you do range dps to avoid being hit by AOE damage until you get full T6. Most people say that T6 Alerts and Duos are way harder and boring

Ever since the new update I’ve been playing around with a few set ups for this power and found this to work pretty well for me. It focuses heavily on precision buffs and can be used for either melee or ranged. If your aim is to hit hard and fast then I recommend the following:

Bloodlust clipped by Ferocity – Adds to your base precision (and 50% damage until the counter resets) and that of your team. Plus adds control resistance so you can immediately follow up with your weapon combo.

Once you’ve hit your WM combo, follow up with either Outrage at close up or Dreadful Blast at a distance. If your buffs are still active then your rage combos will hit staggering heights.

If you’re worried about taking damage close up then start with Severe Punishment. Recover health and get that +10 control resistance and health. Don’t worry, your two rage combos will completely mitigate damage if timed correctly.

And if you want to make short work of surrounding adds or make quicker burns, hit Beserk to double your already insane damage.

If used correctly, you’ll be seeing numbers in the millions on raids and alerts. I also use precision trinkets like the CC trinket for bosses and the drop trinkets for less tougher foes. I’m currently at 107 SP and use Hand Blasters and can see my precision stat reach over 6k for fast, hard bursts.

  94. Skyping

For the range dps rotation, after using dreadful blast, it’s hold range x2. Also, it would be more efficient if they use a weapon mastery combo before using either outrage or dreadful blast.

ie. After using plasma wretch, when you jump cancel, there is a dovetail before you can use another skill. That being said, they could insert a weapon mastery combo to increase their dps while still maintaining an efficient use of power.

Melee: relentless anger c/ bloodlust > violence (hold melee) > plasma wretch > weapon mastery > outrage (hold melee).

Range: relentless anger c/ bloodlust > galling eruption (hold melee) > plasma wretch > weapon mastery > dreadful blast (hold range x2).

By making sure you time your outrage/dreadful blast right, you will see a white circle around you noting you have mastered the WM Combo and have gained a bonus.

Taken your advice on the Rage DPS and used the Armories to have a DPS for Range & Melee. So now I can switch between the two AND I color coded the uniform so I know which is which. Also helps to have two places in the game for these multiple DPS setups. One place is for PvE load outs & settings while the other will be for the PvP settings.

I love your guides and the detail you put in your explanations. I have a rage DPs that I built, using this guide as my road map, when the power was first released and its been fun.

But I am a bit lost. Now obviously I missed something but I’m curious, what are the “Green Super Powers”? You have 17 powers highlighted (including the iconics) but we’re only given 15 PP. Could you explain please?

    Thank you

Hello Tucker, thanks for your support. GU36 have affected combat balance and power interactions, such as, Dreadful Blast or Plasma Retch, that is why in our updated guide we introduce the probability to use Armories. You armory imprint your role, equipment, styles, colors, power points, skill points, and loadouts; and you can let 3 power points and/or 10 skill points to spend later.

In this guide, “Green Super Powers” refers to the super-powers you should not imprint in your armory, letting you choose between unlocking Outrage or Galling Eruption everytime you press that armory button. Letting you choose powers depending on the situation: melee (challenge, duos, missions) or range (alerts and raids).

This mean that in your armory, only “red super-powers”, in your build and loadout, will be imprinted, and then you can unlock “green super-powers” depending on the situation and manually edit your loadout.

We are glad to be helpful and if you have any other questions, we will be pleased to answer it 🙂

Hello OreoShake thanks for your comment,

Using Relentless Anger in DPS role will cause damage to enemies equal to a portion of your outgoing Rage Combo and weapon damage. It also Heal back all damage taken for 8 seconds.

When this 8 seconds finished, you will suffer Rage Crash unless you use a Rage Crash mitigate power such as: Outrage, Plasma Retch, Dreadful Blast. While performing these powers or their combo, damage caused by Rage Crash is ignored.

If no Rage Crash mitigate power is activated, all damage healed in those 8 seconds will crush you at once (probably it will kill you) and that is called Rage Crash

Hope this answer your question 🙂

This guide is okay, but I am worried about the “Vunerable to block” caveat on some of the abilities. I dunno if it’s just me, but I am starting to notice that some pve enemies (bosses too) the higher you level that are begining to block more often than not that it sometimes negates our abilities and leaves us power-hungry. Also, can you suggest another loadout for flyers? I am sensing a more 80% melee-specific loadout here as well as a non-flyer feel since jump-cancel is suggested. I’m already at level 22 on my character (a flyer) when a friend suggested me this guide, and I would kinda hate having to restart all over from scratch on my premium account if that is the case.

    1. dcuobloguide Post author

Hi Xol thanks for your comment. As rage dps you should have in your loadout the best powers to ensure high damage. However, clipping Plasma Retch with jump and then Dreadful Blast + combo is the most powerful way to make high range DPS but this is only doable when you have a controller by your side. If you are in solo situations like Quest, Challenge or Duos i personally use Relentless Anger (Heals back all damage for 8 seconds) clipped with Bloodlust (increase all damage 50%) and my dual wield weapon combos; only if i know i receive a lot of damage i use Outrage to prevent rage crashing damage on me. This rotation help me to save a lot of power and restore power with my weapon combos.

  99. my name

this isn’t a guide it’s just descriptions on a few powers, how to avoid rage crash, and a two power range rotation.

to add to rage rotation try Eviscerating Chain -> clip Bloodlust -> Plasma Retch -> jump cancel -> clip Dreadful Blast combo x2. Repeat sans EC throwing in range consumable clips, trinkets, and soders as needed. Robot Sidekick helps for range too.
